It's well-documented that I heart Drew Brees. But, man, does this guy do a lot well.
You know he can play football, he represents the university well at events and in general and he's been a winner at everything he's done...so it makes sense that that he can play the gentlemen's game at a pretty high level.
Brees had his first hole-in-one earlier in the month. And granted, a lot of players do this (I was playing with my brother when he hit his first)...but it sounds like he scores well too. Two-over is a pretty good score for a guy who doesn't play every day...and unlike me, Brees probably doesn't take mulligans and is playing on courses without windmills on them.
I just learned a lot about Drew Brees in this last post. First of all, when was he on jeopardy? Second, since when does he hang out w/ Carlton from "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"? The latter impresses me even more than his recent hole-in-one.

ReplyDeleteIf I had the kind of money to buy the best clubs, hire one of the best swing coaches, and have a membership at a private club that I could play every other day during the football offseason.....I could probably be a scratch golfer too.

ReplyDeleteYes, Matt, money is all it takes. I've been playing for 20 years and I'm simply a multi-million dollar contract away from being pro-ready.
ReplyDeleteIt takes money and some talent. Obviously, if your swing is like Charles Barkeley's no amount of money will save you.
ReplyDeleteMatt, Barkley used to be a 10 handicap...but the game is now in his head and he has an unmeasurable handicap...money and a membership is not all it takes; but it helps.
