Much like Appleby, he seems like a phenomenal kid on the field and off. Coach Hazell has to be grinning ear to ear watching these two young QB's zip the ball around the field. We'll see. Should be a bright future for this program. I know he started wearing it when he got hurt...but he's no longer hurt. I look at him wearing it and see Steve Spurrier standing behind him, as I seem to recall Florida QB's of the 90's wearing flipping receivers gloves on their throwing hands. Wuerffel, (yes, Googled) Mathews or Sexy Rexy. (One of those dudes that threw the ball as far as they could every other play and let 3 to 4 4.2 40 yd dash guys run under it.) I do have a point here. There's a BIG reason why normal QB's don't wear gloves. First of all, they are sticky as all get out. Second, there is NO WAY for a QB to put the touch on his passes needed to be successful at the position. You cannot consistently control your release point...hence you throw picks, worm burners and bleacher blazers. Sound familiar? Unless Hazell decides he wants to run the option almost every play, Henry is not and should not be the starting QB. I trust Coach Hazell's decision and hope he gives Appleby the ball. The equation seems to be that to be a shoe-in for it the player pretty much needs to have missed almost an entire season (read: hurt before the first game or during the first game) to get it. But I don't know if there really is any hard and fast rule for it, or it is just a conference thing, if what zlionsfan says is actually the norm.Planghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02653369707738276129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-39821377059379262672013-04-09T12:10:00.722-04:002013-04-09T12:10:00.722-04:00Haha, yeah.Haha, yeah.Kodiak33https://www.blogger.com/profile/11189876768719438412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-13370708649773948792013-04-08T15:54:30.939-04:002013-04-08T15:54:30.939-04:00He'll probably be sitting with Schott. The waiver process has changed recently from what I recall, so the team doesn't have to make the application immediately (in other words, they can apply in, say, an athlete's junior year for a waiver for his freshman year, as in Gardner's case).

In an article about an Oklahoma player, there was an implication that if the conference denies the waiver, the school could then appeal to the NCAA. Naturally the NCAA's website didn't explain this anywhere, so I don't know if that's a misunderstanding or if that's true and just rarely known because such waivers are generally granted.zlionsfanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02966540737106797756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-16689736248883858672013-04-08T11:54:01.168-04:002013-04-08T11:54:01.168-04:00Danny Hope
