If ever it's fair to say a team may have been looking ahead, this would be the kind of situation.

We'll know a lot more about OSU after next weekend. And you're right, if they play like that against USC, it's going to be ugly.J Moneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09925161304409415806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-19708807999292088882009-09-07T17:46:25.169-04:002009-09-07T17:46:25.169-04:00I'm calm, trust me. Big difference from the last couple years.

I just couldn't get over how bad tOSU looked. I thought Prior was supposed to be this amazing quarterback, and I can tell you he was less than impressive. Way too tentative with the ball. USC is going to eat them alive.Kevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00971052911066715601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-23472283368920997802009-09-07T17:36:33.453-04:002009-09-07T17:36:33.453-04:00Whoa, eeeeeeasy there, big guy! Let's win the winnable games first and then we can start thinking about those kinds of upsets.

I like your optimism. I remember when I was that way. The path the Boilers took to get the W, however, notsomuch. I am impressed with Coah Hope, Ralph Bolden, and Joey Elliot. The D needs some work, but I could see some flashes of brilliance. It made me a little nostalgic for the late 90s.

More importantly, I loved the effort overall. Some people layed up, and were a little hesitant, but for the most part we saw some good overall effort. Keith Smith will get their with more experience, and the tackling will get better. I think 6-6 is realistic and 8-4 is asking a lot.

BTW - My wife is a tOSU grad, so I did my duty as a husband and went to Columbus to see the tOSU/Navy game. They are EXTREMELY lucky to have eeked out the win, and their run defense sucks. Navy let tOSU win in my opinion. If I was the Navy coach I'd keep running the sweep to the right, and power drive up the middle the entire game. Every time they ran it they got 4+ yards. When they threw the ball they shot themselves in the foot. I'm looking ahead to tOSU as a potential upset for the Boilers!Kevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00971052911066715601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-74189036077010352852009-09-07T10:58:50.783-04:002009-09-07T10:58:50.783-04:00We saw Chris Kramer hob-knobbing some cheerleaders...We saw Chris Kramer hob-knobbing some cheerleaders with Ryne Smith in tow.

No wonder Ryne-o didn't transfer. Sure he'll see less and less playing time, but he's picking up all of Kramer's spare trim.Ross McLochnesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01824006610957081195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-80607969667789684772009-09-06T22:06:10.804-04:002009-09-06T22:06:10.804-04:00Boilerdowd must have walked out the same gate as m...Boilerdowd must have walked out the same gate as myself. When I walked out I noticed Coach Keady posing with 2 older ladies. Then 10 feet away Kramer was getting ready to have his picture taken with 6 or 7 high school/college age girls. Someone (possibly Keady) says, "I see, Kramer gets his picture with all the young ones!" Couldn't help but laugh at that one!Chadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15812547488267315538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-9507603400243167532009-09-06T20:24:18.892-04:002009-09-06T20:24:18.892-04:00A win is a win, and I like all those rushing yards...A win is a win, and I like all those rushing yards. The biggest improvement in college football is usually seen between weeks one and two - when the teams figure out game speed and get used to hitting someone other than their team mates. I will bet you the tackling looks better next week.Planghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02653369707738276129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-90648491301041220982009-09-06T15:05:58.280-04:002009-09-06T15:05:58.280-04:00Yeah, last year's kick was 53 ... funny thing ...Yeah, last year's kick was 53 ... funny thing is that kick broke a school record that had stood for 57 years (but was tied twice). James Reichert must have had one hell of a leg for those days.

(I love that you can get the entire media guide online. This internets thing is cool.)

There were a lot of things not to like about the Toledo game, but at least, as you pointed out, they all came in a win, and against ... oh hell. Yeah, apparently Toledo's supposed to suck this year. So never mind.

But it's a win.zlionsfanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02966540737106797756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-37597981186934724722009-09-06T01:08:17.281-04:002009-09-06T01:08:17.281-04:00Pretty sure that Wiggs' field goal at OSU last...Pretty sure that Wiggs' field goal at OSU last year was only 53 yards, as today's field goal broke his own school record of that distance.

For reference: http://www.purduesports.com/sports/m-footbl/stats/2008-2009/teamcume.html#TEAM.IND

Great game, though.
