I'm not a huge fan of that but whatever. It was annoying the O$u fans around us obviously. Then when we ran a fake to the RB and TerBush scrambled for about a gain of 5 a drunk O$u fan turned toward us and screamed, "1,2,3,4 5 yard loss BITCH!" His not drunk buddy next to him pulled him down and informed him that Purdue actually gained 5 yards. He didn't say anything the rest of the game.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-42295420867100598552011-11-13T20:08:24.840-05:002011-11-13T20:08:24.840-05:00Great write up. Like you guys, I was convinced Wiggy was going to kick the game winner in regulation.
I was lucky enough to have a field pass yesterday, and was standing next to Wiggs as he was warming up in the end zone pre-game. I told him I wanted to see a 60 yarder with the wind. He just looked at me and grinned. Almost came true.

I don't know if it was "rush the field" worthy, but it sure felt good. That last drive in overtime was phenomenal.

See you guys next week - stop by up at the top of Slayter before the game! I owe you guys a cold one for all the entertainment and news over the past few years.ablinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05469945960169077145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-45896147417043555662011-11-13T20:03:13.090-05:002011-11-13T20:03:13.090-05:00True Story:

We were heading to the men's room prior to OT yesterday and a young alum says to me "I am not sure if I want us to pull this out or not because if we get to 6 wins it means another year of no "HOPE". My response was that we need this win for the players and in particular the seniors and we need to believe that the extra 30 days of practice would mean a better consistent product on the field next year. Not sure I believe my own BS but I think the guy feels like many fans/alum. Very sadAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-72805301384129780492011-11-13T18:49:05.103-05:002011-11-13T18:49:05.103-05:00I've watched Hope and his coaches achieve emba...I've watched Hope and his coaches achieve embarrassing losses and stunning victories. I see the talent Hope assembles (the 2012 class is loaded compared to past classes). Then I wonder if maybe, just maybe Hope can be a "7-win per season" coach.

What if...and it's a BIG what if...but what if Hope leads the Boilers to 7 wins and a minor bowl game EVERY season from here on out? Is that enough? Given the drought we're experiencing, it might be good enough for awhile. I honestly don't know how to feel about the program...

Happy for the players this week, though.CaryNW87https://www.blogger.com/profile/09211922211535914178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-11803800725879535242011-11-13T18:19:08.571-05:002011-11-13T18:19:08.571-05:00Enjoyed the write-up, bdowd. Keep up the good work!

Very pleased with the outcome of yesterday's game, and I always relish a chance to silence the Bucknuts. To take a moment for a personal rant, Brutus jumped from the stands yesterday onto the roof of the X-Tra Special and started rocking back and forth on it to rile up the crowd (which raises the age-old question of WHY on Earth we put the visiting team right in front of the place where we park our mascot trains...). Those of us in the Reamer Club that were there on the field ran over and yelled at him to get down and he finally did. A few of us went to speak to the cheer coach and the best he could say was that he saw it and told him not to do it again. A few minutes later, he tried to sneak back over to the train and when he saw us all staring him down, he walked away. Now, I know the average fan doesn't care *quite* as much as we do about the trains, but it made our blood boil. It was a cloud hanging over all of us for the rest of the day. Not only was it incredibly disrespectful, but the X-Tra Special has a fiberglass roof.. not steel. He could have easily broken through it or severely damaged it with his cleats. We never, ever put footwear on either of the trains if we have to get on top, and he just walked all over it like he owned it, and wearing football cleats to boot.

I'm planning on writing a letter to their athletic department to demand a written, public apology to Purdue University, and I encourage any of you who saw it to do the same.BoilerPauliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03817268678225182576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36696801.post-83228658852332607942011-11-13T11:12:53.513-05:002011-11-13T11:12:53.513-05:00Glad you enjoyed the club seats.
