You may recall an unfortunate incident where then-Purdue football players Selwyn Lymon, Jonte Lindsey, Stanford Keglar and Dustin Keller got into a bar brawl with a couple of civilians in 2007. We really weren't sad to see Lymon go.
To close the loop on that story from more than five years ago, while Keglar and Keller settled out of court with the plaintiffs, Lymon and Lindsey did not and found liable for $100,000 and $50,000, respectively, pursuant to default judgements.
The moral of the story, of course, is don't push women while tying to enter a ladies restroom or beat up a guy in a parking lot while you're drunk and parked in a handicapped spot. You know, the basics.
We're all entitled to our day(s) in court, but neither Lymon nor Lindsey showed up for theirs.
Which makes this story just like their on-field days at Purdue.
ahhhh now this story takes me back to my days in West Laffy. Kyle Williams getting 40 years in the clink, Lymon getting stabbed, Gene Bright getting tazed..it was something every week. But hey, they could put up 63 on Ball State and IU and beat Notre Dame then.
ReplyDeleteOr you could go "old school" and talk about Eric Hunter putting a knife to someone's throat in Owen Hall. Ah, memories.

I personally fell in the middle of these two stories:

I used to wonder why the dude with the hostages and all the automatic weapons ALWAYS gave up when SWAT shot in a couple of measly tear gas canisters. I don't wonder anymore.
Ah good times Winamac. I think I was beneath the TP'd tree. I can still smell the tear gas seeping through my window in the Quad. Personally, I left when they tossed a keg on the fire. I didn't think it would be wise to be nearby should that have blown.
ReplyDeleteThe cops weren't pressing in or anything there for a while. We were burning our own furniture (couches from the brownstones, for example), drinking beers, having a gay old time. It wasn't until some idiot decided to fire a roman candle toward the west police line that they got grumpy. I can still see that thing flying through the air. It took about 3 seconds for the cops to return the favor with tear gas. In hind sight, can't say I blame them!
