Did Anything Count Back Then, Really?

Last night, Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander pitched a no-hitter. The feat was especially impressive with Magglio Ordonez doing somersaults in the outfield during the game (right).

I always enjoy when sportscasters, who are supposed to be nimble when thinking on their feet, have to speak without a script and they totally botch it. On Sportscenter, they cut to the Baseball Tonight crew for their reaction and Steve Berthiaume was hosting instead of Karl Ravech. Here's what Berthiaume said:

"And Verlander with the first no-hitter in Detroit Tigers history...since 1984."

Uh, what?
