The Boston Celtics finally made the trade that had been talked about for months on Monday when they acquired Kevin Garnett for a couple serviceable players and a bag of salted peanuts.
With Ray Allen, Paul Pierce & Kevin Garnett, it would seem that the Celtics should now be favored in the East. Then again, if J Money, Tim & I formed a team, we might lead the East at some time during the season.
Nice job T-Wolves management...now the Pacers' front office is not the worst in the league.

I'm always amazed when the media creates a buzz that Player X should be traded and eventually, the front office of the team in question begins also thinking that Player X should be traded. How does this make sense for Minnesota? Garnett's been nothing but loyal to the sad-ass franchise, he's still young, he's still productive... I just don't get this sudden urgency to trade a guy who has repeatedly commented that he wants to stay. Dumb move.
As for the C's, this definitely makes them the favorite in the Atlantic Division and with the East as bad as it is, they really should contend to go to the Finals.
Well at least Minnesota has sealed their fate as the sub-par team we always knew that they could be.
Speaking of the Pacers, are they going to get any improvement in trading O'Neal?
Jon- here's what I think they'll do- they'll trade O'Neal for Lamar Odom & Chris Mihm...sounds horrible, but I wouldn't put getting nothing for O'Neal past that brain trust. I always thought Walsh was a pretty smart basketball guy, until he made Bird president. I actually thought Bird was a pretty good head coach, but his moves of loading up with 6'6" guys who can't score have perplexed me.
