Powers Through It!

Blake Powers, who evidently is listed as tight end for IU, was arrested Monday night for hitting an off-duty policeman with a water balloon.

Now, I'm all for mocking IU and their players, but was this really worth arresting somebody? And it turns out that he and the guys he was traveling with all "tested negative for alcohol use" (which sounds like a rather formal way of figuring out if people were drinking).

This is just one more example of how much more bad-ass the Purdue football program is. When our guys get arrested, it's for beating down a mo-fo!*

*"Beating down a mo-fo" may also refer to inexcusably beating on two random women. Boiled Sports in no way supports this kind of treatment of women, except when we're talking about the women of the IU football team.

Purdue's football team arrests > IU football team arrests

I swear our FBall team can't do anything correctly, including Fulmer Cup points.

Pat -- thanks for dropping by. Oh, and... wanna bet??

Much as I would love to rip on IU, I can't help but be honestly sympathetic to a program that lost a guy as good as Hoepp. And on the football front, I just think that's gonna hurt them a lot this year. But maybe I'll be wrong and there will be a lot of "win for Hoepp" sentiment. I don't know.

Regardless, Purdue's headed towards a solid, if not spectacular, year.

Powers showed the arm that many IU fans thought would take the "Ooosiers" to a bowl game...atta boy, Blake!

Hey Pat, ask some former BSU people if they think Bill Lynch is ready to run a BCS conference team. I polled about 10 and none of them think the guy is worth a damn. It really is too bad for IU fans, Hep would have had them in a bowl this year.

I will disagree with my Boiled Sports counterpart- James Hardy knows how to beat people...as long as they're his girlfriend.

That's just sad - we're debating which team gets in more trouble. The Purdue coaches need tasers and the IU coaches need towels - that's just great.
