I demand ONE MIIIILLLLLLION dollars!

I think it's hilarious that Alex Rodriguez is once again talking to the Yankees. It turns out that it wasn't about wanting out of the pressure pot known as New York... it was only about more money. That's why people hate a lot of professional athletes. They claim it's for personal or family reasons, but it's ALWAYS about the money.

Scott Boras: We demand $350 million per week in order to negotiate.

A-Rod: Nevermind Yankees, I don't like New York so I'm opting out.

Steinbrenner: Okay, we don't want anyone that doesn't want to be a Yankee.

Rest of MLB: *crickets*

Scott Boras: Oops.

A-Rod: I changed my mind. I love New York!

Steinbrenner: A-Rod has shown he DOES want to be a Yankee. Yay!

It's so freaking stupid. All he cares about is the money. He doesn't want to be a Yankee any more than he wants to be a Marlin. He just wants $30 million per year. He doesn't care where it comes from. It's all about the money. He'll kiss the new Steinbrenner's booty in order to get it too. It's just a shame that the new management of the Yankees didn't choose to stick it to him this time and not let him back to the table. That would have been really great. To see A-Rod leave $81 million for 3 years + $150 million for 5 years on the table in order to take a 4 year offer of $80 million. Oh the happiness that would've brought me.

Suck it Scott Boras!

Oh, and PS. Suck it Yankees!

Suck it Yankee$!

Oh yeah, congrats Tim on your team's many post-season awards. It really is too bad that Sabathia left early for vacation during the playoffs...dude did kick ass during the regular season though.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't going to go to a team that was at least going to compete for a playoff spot. I would have been shocked if the Royals all of the sudden decided they had money and put up $300 million and he took it.

Beckett deserved the AL Cy Young over CC, no question. Especially after CC's dismal performance in the ALCS, which in case you guys forgot the RED SOX won, plus the RED SOX won the World Series behind Beckett. Also as far as A Rod goes I hope the Yankees sign him and they will continue their blissful playoff drought! I'm out, Rack me Romie!

Willie, you do realize that the Cy Young is a regular season award right? That's why CC won. No one in their right mind would've given it to him if it included the post-season.

Even during the Regular Season Beckett won more games in less IP and starts than CC Fatabia, just seems like the writers voted for him b/c they were afraid he was going to eat them. NO I DIIIIII'NT

Well played. You're obviously very knowledgeable.

Things such as innings pitched (more is better), run support (less is better because it indicates the pitcher overcame more), and quality starts (kept their team in it for at least 6 innings) matter a lot in these awards.

I wish the Yanks had told him to suck it, too. They did say they were gonna do that if he opted out... and then they DID kind of say that when he opted out... and now, apparently, it's not over. Whatever, he's good to have on your team whether you like him or not. But I think the biggest bonus of NOT having him would have been less drama and back-page BS. If Miguel Cabrera or Mike Lowell were playing third, it would just be a guy playing third. If ARod comes back, it's a circus for the next ten years or until ARod goes on a killing spree after cracking under the abuse of the NY press and fans.

By the way, Timbo, this is quite good stuff. I especially like the dialogue.

"Oops." -- Scott Boras

Love it. Also the crickets...
