ESPN is reporting that Purdue's own Ray Edwards, now playing defensive end for the Minnesota Vikings, has been suspended four games for violating the NFL's policy on steroid use.
Edwards has been a starter for most of the season, but was replaced by Erasmus James for last Sunday's game against Detroit. Coach Brad Childress said that decision had nothing to do with Edwards' violation, which the coach learned of on Wednesday morning.
Childress said he was disappointed in Edwards and could not comment further because of the confidentiality surrounding the policy.

Based on his performance he certainly wasn't using in 2005.
BTW, you know you guys want to apply for a media credential at the Motor City Bowl website
I'm sure we'd get one...how much does it cost? Do we get to go to the comp media table? I hear they always have good food.
Maybe 'roids made Edwards lazy...he looked like he was using something...but as you said, didn't play like it!
Field Correspondant Timothy Timberson filed for his media creds. Brilliant idea, too. I've tried it for other games and gotten as far as the NHL PR offices for the NHL All Star Game but often hit a roadblock. That said, a lame bowl like this featuring Purdue... we should be able to get in. If Timmy does, he can file an expense report with the Boiled Sports coporate office for a digital recorder if, and only if, he gets some solid interviews with the likes of Jaycen Taylor, Joe Tiller and Rowdy.
Who is Ray Edward?
What happend to Rowdy? Did he finally grow up and go to a school with a football team?
96- I heard they were done with him two years ago, but I swear he was at a game this past season...No matter, he freaked me out.
Rowdy was awesome
Loved it when he bounced on his head
He must have deflated along with the football program
