"It's a proud moment for us," said Coach Dan Dakich through misty eyes. "We saw our other in-state rivals advance and knew that we had to do the same, otherwise it could hurt recruiting and our overall standing in Indiana."
The Hoosiers faced stiff competition, such as getting to their hotel and making it through practice without being eliminated or committing any more NCAA infractions.
"This program's been through a lot," noted AD Rick Greenspan. "Dan Dakich has led this club admirably and in a very caucasion way."

During a press conference later in the day with several Hoosiers, Eric Gordon suddenly stood up and said that if Coach Sampson wasn't coaching, then he wasn't playing. He followed his short ultimatum with "Who's with me?" and ran out of the room.
He returned shortly after nobody had followed him and DJ White told him to sit down and shut up.
The Hoosiers play Arkansas today.

When asked about the current status and future prospects of the program, Indiana observers were quick to point out their 5 NCAA banners.
Thank you for illustrating how most of the rest of us feel about IU fans. When referencing the future, you point to banners from the past. The long-ago past.
Wow, you showed us!!
Nah, I'm a Purdue alum just sick of that line that IU fans pull. All. The. Time. They could go winless in B10 play and still point to those banners hanging in that abortion of a basketball arena.
I think Tennesse plays as much D as Baylor does.
Haha... hey, sorry I assumed you were one of "them," Chris.
What's really funny is that you meant that as a dig as to how they really are and I interpreted it as you being a real IU fan -- because they're THAT predictable!!
Boiler Up.
Also, Matt... Me, Tim and boilerdowd play as much D as Baylor.
I'm an awesome defender.
This is the extent of Bruce Pearl's coaching:
"Ok guys...go play!"
Also, is there anything worse than having to hear people at work talk about the games and their brackets when they know nothing about college basketball?
Purdue Matt, I agree. And what's even more sad is that they will root for crap teams like Tennessee just to keep their brackets alive... while folks like us would probably like to see American pull it off.
Getting back to the post, I do think it might have been in IU's best interest to sit this post-season out, considering they most likely won't make a final four run.
Matt - Let's be fair now. Bruce Pearl also "drapes" Erin Andrews at halftime, which counts for wayyy more than actually coaching.
This post was hilarious. I have no idea when IU plays and I've been in a meeting all day. I came back, checked the scores, and made a few (okay, a lot) marks on my bracket. Then I loaded BS and I was like "Damn, how did I miss the IU score?" I actually thought they had won, which would further hurt my ailing bracket :) I even crossed out Arkansas on my bracket you bastards! Then my brain noticed that the title says "Day" and not "Round" and I read the rest of the hilarious post. Great post.
Oh, and I just wanted to congratulate Gordon on his 8 points tonight. Yeah, he's ready to be (a role player) in the NBA.
