And do you know why she thinks that? Because all four number 1 seeds have made it to the Final Four. How effing boring. But at least it should mean that the Final Four games are actually good this year, unlike most of the games in recent years. Four powerhouses, the four everybody theoretically should want to see are there. And even though I have Kansas winning it all, I have to admit I was pumped to see Davidson hang with them yesterday. Until, of course, they realized they were "just Davidson" and coaching decisions were left to Steph Curry's mom or something. Seriously, with a timeout to draw up a play and 16 seconds on the clock, down by two, the best you can do is give the ball to Curry and... what?
"Okay, men... this is what it all comes down to... I, I... um... gulp... I don't know, I'm too excited! What do we do?? Steph! Do you want the ball?? Cool! Tell you what, you just take the ball up the court and win the game. That's the play! Everybody else! You stand around and watch Steph!"
Seriously, that's what his teammates basically did until there were about 2 seconds left and Curry was being triple-covered. So then, down by two, the best move is a 25-footer that would get you yelled at if you threw it up during a pick-up game at the co-rec. Good run by Davidson, but they should take more heat than they are for that final play.
Anyway, back to the brackets. Entry adrenaline leads all comers with 98 points, one ahead of a tie for second between K-Towns 2 and K-Town 2. And yes, those are from different Yahoo users. Spooky, I know. Boilerdowd is keeping the BS staff looking less stupid than we might otherwise, by hanging around in 6th place, while his wife is just 5 points behind him in 14th place.
Yahoo allows us to use their "Scenario Generator" to figure out who might win our bracket. (Wouldn't it be fun to use the "Scenario Generator" for other things in life? Like, "If I hit my golf ball into the meathead's group in front of me because he's a douchebag, what's the likelihood that he'll come beat me to death with his flop wedge?")
Anyway, here are just some of the fun possibilities:
UNC and Memphis play for the title with UNC winning: Boiler Up wins (currently 5th). Same matchup, but with Memphis winning gives the contest to me so horney me love you long (currently 37th).
Kansas over Memphis: A WHOLE LOT OF 3'S wins (currently 4th).
Memphis over Kansas: CA Boilermaker (currently 24th).
UNC over UCLA: adrenaline (current leader in the clubhouse).
UCLA over UNC: Revs Bracket (currently 8th).
UCLA over Kansas: Lutz Minnoy & Watt Are Smart (Boilerdowd, currently 6th).
You get the idea. And you can play with the generator to your heart's content, once you're done with your picnic table.
Only three games left in the college basketball season. They should actually be good, too.

Why not have someone else bring the ball up and run Curry off several screens?
I have this vision of the Davidson coach drawing out a great play, then looking up at the kids faces and Curry saying, "I'll make it."
It worked in the movie.
You have to look at all the comments on Hutchens' recent blog post about Tony Bennett. It's hilarous. Here are some of the good ones.
-We didn't want him anyway.
-Bennett isn't ready to compete for national championships.
-Bennett just wants to be a big fish in a small pond.
-He wasn't offered the job, he was just talking to IU. So there was no rejection here.
-The fact is that Tony Bennett would not of been a good hire for IU. His style of coaching is typical Big 10 which as you can see is not that good right now.
-Too many uncertain situations for Bennett to come to IU. And, add to the fact that Greenspan fired his sister.
-I would be surprised if he would go to LSU. If he does, it would show that his decision making ability is suspect and IU dodged a bullet.
-Bennett wasn't even offered the job, IU is just talking to coaches at this point to see if they are interested, that's all.
-It's obvious Bennett will never win a national title at Wash St., if that is even his goal. And if it is his goal he must have another job in mind other than Indiana.
-It may just be a matter of him being more comfortable with the security of Wash St. and not wanting to face the challenge and "expectations" to compete for national titles.

Matt, my brother and I coached CYO high school ball a few years ago...Yeah, yeah, pretty good- two city championships in four years. Anyway, we're both convinced we could have drawn up a better play than "Curry brings the ball up and shoots a three".
Did he honestly not see a triple-team coming? I mean one screen was all they had set up...ridiculous. No matter, Davidson played admirably and made it a contest...better than 3 of the other final eight. I honestly fell asleep during one of the games. I have never done that before. Some of those games were worse than golf.
One more thing- Memphis looks awfully stout right now. Memphis v. UCLA could be a great game as UCLA's defense is stifling and Memphis' offense is thuggishly delicious.
Why not a decoy play? Did you see the Davidson guy under the hoop when that 25 footer went up? No one was within 8 feet of him!!
Curry had to have known they were gonna come after him, should have had a play like the one Jordan used to Bill Wennington that one time. I believe it was the game he dropped 55 in the Garden.
But hey, these are college kids and I am sure the nerves got to them. No need to "Give them more heat." Sheesh, J, you act like they are politicians that ruined our country or something.
Ruined our country? Here is how you ruin a country:
1) Pulling troops out of Iraq prematurely
2) Bailing out homeowners rather than letting the free market correct the problem
3) Spending money on the "problem" of global warming
Well, E, I just mean we shouldn't all say, "Well Davidson put on a good run" and just leave it at that b/c they're Davidson.... no matter who you are, you have the ball and a chance to go to the Final Four, you need to do something better than that.
I heard Bill Self on the radio today say he figures Davidson didn't want Curry to NOT touch it on the final possession so maybe they took their chances with having him bring it up. He also said he was surprised by it, though.
Fact is, they didn't NEED a three so doing what they did is a bad move. Bad decisions, bad coaching, whatever you want to blame. They could have at least forced overtime. Still, they were fun to watch and all four #1s is kind of cool, too.
Thanks for posting those blog comments, Matt... that's fantastic. Hoosier supporters are so delusional and it's fun to watch.
