The Big One!! (Not Sports Related)
This morning, at approximately 5:30, the Boilerdowd household was awakened by a shake. No, it wasn't a UFO, it was an EARTHQUAKE!!!! Honestly, it freaked me out a bit and it woke me, my wife and my son up. I promptly got out of bed, walked around the house...everything looked OK (I don't know what I'm supposed to do during an earthquake). It freaked out the two year old a bit though. Long story short, everybody's fine.
The last quake that rocked the Indy area was 1987. Much like this morning's edition, many didn't feel it either. I'm lucky, I felt both. In your face!
This will go on the shelf with
Indiana is for earthquake lovers

That's what she said.
I saw this on the news this morning but I'm a moron and didn't think to check in on you guys... sometimes we non-midwesterners forget which rectangle state is next to which.
Glad all is okay.
We're good...The little guy was very upset.
Just had an aftershock...Freaking me out.
I live next to a fault line and have yet to feel an earthquake here. We get a lot of little ones (less than 3.0) which we usually can't feel. I don't think we'll get one while I live here because I actually have earthquake insurance. If I'm paying for it, it won't happen.
I felt the 1987 one - was helping my dad build a barn and the boards started shaking.
It woke me up too. I could feel my apartment building and my bed sway back and forth. I was so confused. I thought it was wind, but when I looked outside everything looked calm. I was so disoriented and sure I was dreaming.
Here's a "shakemap"

It must have been pretty brutal down near Vincennes...this last one really spooked me. My home office is in the basement and feeling the whole house move around/above you is unsettling.
That's it, just decided- I'm not moving to California.
The little guy was very upset.
Your penis was upset?
In the event of an earthquake, do not go stand in a doorway or get under a table or desk. Get beside your bed, or beside a couch. If the building were to fall, you would be crushed if you are under something. If you are next to something large that is strong, you will end up in a triangle zone - stuff will fall on top of the bed but leave a small space next to it. These are recommendations from rescue workers in California.
#25 long,
The Star disagrees with you. I believe you more so than a Marion County official. This article is kind of funny really, its all common sense....

Thanks for posting the Kokomo news too! Since I'm from there my parents saw everything Wednesday night. When my partment started shaking this morning I wondered if it was the same thing.
When T-Mill's apartment is a-rocking, don't come a-knocking.
