Not Sneaking Up On Anybody

Purdue gets more respect and props and pub and whatever-the-heck you want to call it. Let's all remember this when we think Purdue doesn't get any "love" in the media.

Didn't they get my memo? They're not the Baby Boilers any more.

Adolescent Boilers in top-5.

The last time I can remember this much pre-season hype for a Purdue team was in 2004.

This isn't necessarily a positive thing.

This is the first prediction that I've seen after Martin left, and I am surprised that the expectations are still so lofty.

Although expectations and Purdue sports often go together like oil and water, it is comforting to know that, for once, Purdue will be ranked ahead of IU in a preseason poll.

I hope.

I'd like them to be ranked in a similar fashion after the season! This pre-season stuff is silliness.

I agree about the pre-pre-season garbage. Kind of like how ESPN came out with their 2009 mock NFL draft about 48 hours after the 2008 version was complete. Has sports speculation really come to this?

Even though it is silliness, it is nice pub for Purdue and helps in recruiting. Hopefully it means more games on CBS and ESPN.

Matt, I think you're correct about TV.

Bass fishing championships mean more games on CBS?

Man, I just don't get TV.
