Watt to NBA, Scott to the Redskins, Martin to UND, Oh my!

Lots 'o ex-Purdue player news coming off of the wire right now, and here goes:

-Former Purdue power forward and drunk driver in West Lafayette, Gordon Watt has decided to dip his toe into the NBA waters. Good size, strength and poor discipline...he might just be a perfect fit in the NBA.

-Purdue class of '08 Strong Safety, Justin Scott has signed a camp contract with the Washington Redskins. I wish him well...he's a pretty solid player that with good coaching might blossom into a very good one. I really liked the way he hit guys and he seemed to improve dramatically in his two seasons in West Lafayette.

-Scott Martin, in his best effort to make me strongly dislike him, might end up playing in South Bend. I honestly can tell you that if he decides to play there, I don't wish him all of the best. If he's the prima donna that he appears to be, he'll fit in well up there. Plus, he'll be able to see his girlfriend more, thank goodness for him.

"I haven't really thought a lot about what I'm really, truly looking for..."

They misquoted him. They left off the last part of that, but luckily I found it printed elsewhere:

"...other than to shed my status as Robbie's bitch."

"...just because I'm really taking the time now to focus in on school and make sure I finish out at Purdue on a good note"

I don't think that's possible, traitor. You'd better hope there's a big, strong, Serbian at whatever school you end up at to carry you off the court next time your ankle flairs up.

Martin walked right be at the spring and I thought maybe, just maybe he was changing his mind. I guess not.

Thankfully, he didn't recognize me from the ill-fated "Profiles in cowardice" series. I might have gotten punched in the face.

He wants to play closer to home, but is looking at Butler??

WTF?? Can someone tell the geography major that Indy is one hour further from home than West Lafayette. What a complete tool!

tmill, I never got to read that before you pulled it. I love the play on "Profiles in Courage." I'm not sure he's the kind of guy to punch anyone. I'm sure he approaches life much like basketball, running away from problems. Boo yeah, I'm feeling mean today and this UND stuff isn't helping.

Are there any more rumors about why he's leaving? He refutes the oft stated "homesick" excuse but doesn't provide another.
