Shocking News: Boston Likes White People

This news is just in this morning, so please bear with us... and I know this might come as a bit of a shock, so perhaps you should sit down. Oh, wait, you're reading this so you're no doubt already sitting down -- in your mother's basement. (Am I right, Buzz? Hey-ooo!)

But it appears that the Boston Red Sox have hired a new "sideline" reporter and Deadspin reports this morning that the various Sox blogs have seemingly "approved" the sexy, blonde young lady.

Imagine that! Can you believe it? Massachusettes people liking blonde, white girls! I know that I, for one, am shocked.

Next thing you're going to tell me is that IU hired a white guy away from a school in Wisconsin.

Oh, right.

That chick is kind of scary looking. You sure she isn't an alien or something? Kind of demonic looking.

Dude, seriously, what the bloody h-e-double hockey sticks is your point? That bloggers find the former Miss San Diego attractive? Well, who wouldn't? I mean, six-foot attractive blonds grow on trees over there.

You're the only one I can think of that would consider re-hashing old, isolated events (I don't live in Southie, nor have I ever) to draw an irrelevant conclusion on somebody's job.

RED HERRING ALERT! RED HERRING ALERT!!! :-D

Paul, you ignorant slut, what in the sam hell are you talking about? That is a good-looking woman.

J, ditto. Do you not think she's purty?

This one just might be a stretch.

I'm just saying that picture isn't great - put a little white face paint on her, some green hair dye - instant Joker! I'm sure she is much better looking in person...

Besides, I prefer darker skinned brunettes - something to offset my Wonderbread whiteness.

Hmmm, somehow my post was interpreted as my not finding her attractive. I absolutely do. Hence the "want to touch the hiney" tag.

However, I just found it laugh-out-loud funny to see her being "evaluated" and "accepted" by the Sox commnuity... just another reminder that they like 'em white in Mass.

Gittle -- as for you, I don't even know what you're talking about.... I think you read into it too much.

I'm talking about how you use events that happened over 30 years ago to support your erroneous assertion that the great people of the Commonwealth, especially those who are Red Sox fans, approve of the new NESN sideline reporter hire because she is white. No, they approve of her because she was Miss San Diego once. Well, at least she participated in a variety of pageants. Besides, at least one of the weblogs Deadspin cited is in Connecticut. ;-)

If you knew anything about the female employees of NESN, you would know that the most popular one is Hazel Mae, who is definitely not white. She's not black, either; she's pilipina, but that would defeat your whole argument, which is full of holes anyway. :-D

I will say this- when living in Taunton, Easton, Bridgewater, Nashua and Pepperell I spent plenty of time in Boston. I think Boston might be one of the most segregated and racist cities in America. It's still derivative of the slums from the early 1900s in the fact that so many ethnicities have their own pockets and tend to stay there.

All that said, I don't think the Sox fan base is anymore racist than the Yankees, Colts, Indians or others...it's the same argument as there are a-holes who cheer for every team. There are racists as well.

I approve of Erin Andrews because she's white.

Um, J - Hazel Mae for Friday??? You could call it "Non-Whites of Boston Sideboob Edition"

I just copywrote that - I'll take a 5% royalty.
