The NCAA has ruled that IU failed to monitor (according to Indianapolis' WNDE) potential rules infractions by Kelvin Sampson. There has not been a punishment/sanction handed down YET by the NCAA...but one is forthcoming.
The first repercussion that we will see is that IU has decided to force Greenspan out...the announcement of his departure from IU will come later this afternoon.

I feel like this is a never ending nightmare. Wait, this is.
Sorry for the sarcasm, but IU might struggle to fill this position. Non-revenue sports such as swimming, diving, soccer, are all in good shape, but the football team looks like it has a few "student privacy law" issues of its own and now this with the basketball team.
I'm pretty sure things can't get worse from here, short of it being found Sampson ran an underground drug ring from the basketball office. I haven't ruled that out, unfortunately.
*edit for grammar
Well, IU fans should look on the bright side: you no longer have to worry about Greenspan. After December, that is. (IU could do worse than to begin the search right now and boot Greenspan out of his office as soon as they find a replacement. Oh yeah, and don't ask for his help. Look what happened the last time he was involved in a candidate search ...)
MJS, I hate to tell you this, but it's not over until the final gavel has been dropped by the NCAA. I still feel that IU will get minimal penalties. Regardless, a lot of damage has been done.
I heard a rumor that K. Lewis was caught in possession of heavy drugs- not marijuana...but big time stuff. Have you heard that, or is there no basis for it?
Regardless, things aren't good in Bloomington...and you guys aren't to the end of the free-fall just yet, but the bottom of the well is in close range.
