Here are the most recent artist renditions of what Mackey Arena will become. I know, I know, we've all seen the original renderings and heard about the pending addition, but I like pictures.
Sure, we'll lose a couple of seats when Mackey is updated in a few years, but holy moly, is it an upgrade! The renovation will bring a new facade that looks fresh and works well with the red brick on the rest of campus, lots of facilities for the athletes, coaches, administration and even some things that will help recruiting...This is something that should be well-worth the money much like the update to Ross-Ade a few years ago.

Hoky Smoky - that is gimungus! Except for the dome, it won't look much like the current Mackey except for the dome.

i still get a kick out of all the stuff they're doing to mackey. when i was in my last semester at purdue five years ago, our senior design project was to come up with options to renovate mackey putting in luxury boxes, a new scoreboard, etc. the scoreboard came quickly and now they're putting in the luxury boxes... nice to know purdue takes advantage of their free student labor.
