Our Boilers got their first verbal commitment last night as they landed a guy that was once highly-touted, and now, no one else wants. Ismael Aristide is a bit of a risk, but might help the extremely-thin Purdue defensive backfield in a season or two. In his highlight reels, he hits hard and seems to stick his nose into a lot of plays...but doesn't have the greatest hands int he world. That said, that's why he's on the defensive side of the ball.
Aristide tore his ACL in spring practice down in Florida after being a name that many schools had expressed interest in following Nike camp in April. I think he is a good risk for the Boilers to take at this point.
Other Notes...
I will be able to watch the Big Ten Network in time for this football season as Comcast and BTN have reached an agreement. It seems that this bliss will only be around for this football and basketball season as Comcast will change up subscription requirements in the spring...
Comcast still stinks.

Other, other notes: Notre Dame and NBC inked a 5 year extension on their broadcast agreement. I wonder who pushed to do this now rather than in 2010?
I remember another highly recruited player whose interest dropped off dramatically because of a torn ACL, forcing him to come to Purdue.
I wonder what ever happened to him...
is comcast now the cable company in w-laf? when i was there it was insight. now i'm going back and frankly, i'd like to have the BTN if we're gonna be on there.
insight was always owned in part by comcast. At purdue they just started using the "comcast" name in january.
Travis- You made the connection I inferred...I don't know where that guy ended up...but his Mom was pretty smokin' for an old lady.
It's IsHmael Aristide. How hard is it to copy and paste a name from GBI?
I don't cut and paste, I type.
Hopefully he will give us reason to not forget how to spell his name. As of right now, I'll allow it.
Hey, Matt, I don't know why you're so salty lately, but take it easy.
Up yours j'money
