This will be the Boilers first road game of the season and will come in a place we have only won once since 1974 (2004 crushing by Orton and crew).Will ND be on the rebound after last season’s disappointment? The loser of that bet has made a costly mistake.
Part of me thinks that Painter is too good for ND's defense. Part of me thinks that something crazy will happen in South Bend.
If Purdue wins, it will be something crazy...Like at UM, Tiller's teams seem "tight" in SB.
I voted a win just because I think Notre Dame's secondary will take a big step back with Zbikowski. No matter how bad they are (and how much I hate them, being from South Bend), they always have a chance against us up there. I still think we pull this one off, and my fellow South Benders start calling for the Manatee's head.
I'm shocked by this poll's results...and must say I disagree with them.
There is simply no way UND will be as bad as they were last year and we simply don't know what type of team our Boilers will be- lots of questions to be answered.
The poll probably suffers a bit from our Boiler bias.
Well, if Purdue doesn't pull its usual head-trip in big, hostile stadiums (UM, PSU, ND, etc.) then we could very well win a shootout. I don't see much defense being played in that game.
Big IF, Paul...I'm reminded of games like the one played by Brees & Co. when Purdue didn't pass during the first half...or the one in which a good Purdue defense did its part and the special teams all but gave the game away.
That's one thing Tiller has struggled mightily with during his career at Purdue- beating historic powers at their homes.
