Basketball Schedule is Out

The schedule for the '08/'09 Boiler basketball team is now set and there are a couple of noteworthy things to point out:
-Purdue plays Duke @ Mackey in the ACC/BT challenge...it's a very good early test and we all get to welcome all-around good guy, Coach K to McKay Arena.

-Purdue might play Davidson twice during the pre-conference schedule (the first time possibly coming in the Championship of the pre-season NIT, the second definitely coming in December in Indy).

-Our Boilers play at Ball State for some reason...Hopefully, in the near future, Purdue's program strength will lead to fewer and fewer away games v. lesser programs...

I suppoes a game at Ball State is fine, since it's really the only scheduled road preseason game. And the John Wooden Tradition doesn't count, since that's neutral and we're a hell of a lot closer to Indy than Davidson is.

Playing Duke at WLaf is pretty good for that time of the year. I'm almost possitive that EsPN will have the game on at a decent time. You can never be quite sure who they will be drooling over at that time...

Scenario-
What if Purdue wins the Pre-Season NIT? That'd mean the Boilers would be coming into the Duke game off of two straight wins over ranked teams (probably), so they would be ranked near or in the top-5.

Will Dukie V still be slobbering over the Blue Devils or will he be jocking a new flavor-of-the week, our Boilers.

Regardless, I don't want to hear his empty rhetoric...But at least it won't be solely the Coach K show in Mackey for EsPN's crew.

Um, I'm pretty sure "Dukie V." will still be drawing little hearts around Coach K when he looks at his schedule. I think Purdue would have to beat Duke, and someone else in the top 15 before Dickie V. and the rest start creaming themselves over the Gold and Black.
