And the hits just keep on coming...

First off, thanks to our pal, Travis over at Off The Tracks for bringing this to our attention.

Purdue's head coach continues his hypocritical talk this week in the Lafayette J & C. For years, Creampuff Joe has been telling us how he doesn't read the internet, doesn't pay attention to any of that, and that all people in the blogosphere and on message boards are "Knuckleheads" who "need to get a life."

Now, he suddenly seems to read, if not take note of us, but only because of our lack of IQ.

You know, Coach Tiller considers himself a bit of a savant, when it comes to psychology...he was a psych major, by the way. He understands the inner workings of the human mind...he knows what makes athletes, and on a greater scale, people tick.

Clearly then, he understands that the best way to rally the fanbase (mostly alums, mind you), is to question their intelligence. Honestly, I'm surprised that people like me, with my low IQ could even understand Joe's big words and bigger concepts that he's been peddling during his tenure at my alma mater.

Joe, since I'm sure you have BS as your homepage on your Tandy 2000, but your damned dial-up connection doesn't let you view all of the rich graphic content of our humble site, I won't include any pictures in this post. Instead, I will keep this simple- You need to spend more time game-planning and motivating the young men who came to Purdue to play under you and less time questioning the IQ of the people who buy tickets and give money to your athletic department...It's just good business at this point. Your legacy is hanging by threads as thin and course as the hairs on your upper lip- Go out and win some games and let everything else fall where it may...And if you really want to really WOW us, how about working in a victory or two over a team with a winning record. That'd be great.

Our fearless leader closes the article by saying the buck starts and ends with one guy- he's right.

Just as Cowboy Joe was once a great leader and motivator of men, he's now made sure that his players understand that they just aren't going to beat every team they play...and gosh darnit, that's OK. And I'll be damned if the team doesn't reflect the very attitude of their coach.

We "could be 4-2" -- so I guess Joe wants credit that we.....COULD...be...decent? I don't get it. We're not. The team is playing somewhat poorly (save for the defense at times) and that's on Joe. It's not something bloggers are manufacturing... it's fact.

You are what your record says you are.

No, it's our fault.

Time for us to take responsibility.

If Joe's been reading blogs, I can't help but wonder what his opinion of "Diabeetus" is?

Did you bash Keady like this during his last few seasons?

There's a big difference between Keady and Tiller.

Keady could motivate a chump to play like a champ. His teams always played hard, even if they were without talent. That's good management by the coach (poor recruiting sure, but good management).

Well the football team has lots of talent and plays like crap. That's bad management by the coach.

Are we "bashing," Matt? Or calling it like we see it? We're making observations, backed up by stats, sources, etc.

And yes, I think we all had issues with Keady towards the end and all agree he stayed too long and it easily could have set the program back a bit, if not for Painter's excellent recruiting. But this site didn't exist yet.

I did-
When Keady held the Purdue fanbase and program hostage as he flirted with leaving, but refused to commit to doing so, I called him out.

As he started to mail it in while recruiting and refused to leave the state, I called him on it.

When he said the kids aren't motivated anymore, I called him on that too...by the way, Joe Tiller said almost the exact thing two weeks ago.

I don't think anyone earns the right to stop trying at their job; especially a job in which a large portion (or all) of their pay comes from alumni-funds. Furthermore, when they're the face of the university's athletics as both Keady and Tiller have been, they simply must represent what is best about the university. Joe Tiller v. 2.0 doesn't do that and neither did Keady in the september of his career.

Good responses all. I was just curious. I think people are too hard on Joe. To think that he doesn't care about winning as much as he used to or doesn't have the fire is ridiculous...IMO.

"Well the football team has lots of talent"

I am not so sure.

Matt, do you have any friends or relatives that are 60+ and are laid back by nature? My Dad is that guy...and I can tell you, he's pretty tired of working...my Father-in-Law is 59 and retired last year...he's having a great time golfing and hanging out with my son.

I think Joe, by his own admission mind you, is done as well...and has been.

I don't mind the Tiller tirade, except when you guys don't bother to mention anything about the basketball team's newest commitment last week. Something about a Top 50 prospect or whatever...

Well played, sir. Well played.

My wife even said she loves you guys as I read the article to her while she was making dinner.

Paul, the commitment, while good, is in the class of '10...so we'll talk about him in due time; promise.

Travis, tell your wife that we liked meeting her...and we'll do our best to continue entertaining. Seems like Joe's helping us out too!

Your wife wasn't supposed to let the cat out of the bag on that one, Travis.

Hey-yooooooooooo!
