Here's the legal stuff...now the ball's in Painter's court.My hope is that he's learned his lesson and doesn't have any more run-ins with the law for the rest of his time in West Lafayette...if he does, I think Painter will show him the door.
As for now, he has trust to earn from the coaching staff, and fans to win back. I think that only happens with being an exemplary guy off and on the court next year.

Interesting how they drop the possession charges, but I won't claim to understand the legal system at all.
That picture and all the empty football stadium seats makes me angry. Play basketball games in basketball arenas!
Hey, you never know, maybe a midwest team and an east coast team will sell out a 70,000 seat stadium on the west coast...

It can be very difficult to prove "possession" of something when there are multiple people in the car. I won't go into the legal theory and I'll just leave it at that. The prosecution was just trying to save itself the headache of making that argument and it makes for an easier plea agreement when you offer an incentive (dropping 2 of the charges) to plead guilty.
Did you see the new ranking of coaches in college football by rivals. Ferentz at #5?! WTF?! Did Kirk Ferentz himself make the rankings?
Someone that was on one of the hottest seats in the country last year.....someone that lost at home to Western Michigan with a bowl berth on the line two seasons ago?!
The media's attention span is like that of a 12 year old...what has just happened is the biggest thing in the world and the years prior are fuzzy at best.
Ferentz is no where near the fifth-best coach in America. Over the next two seasons he'll show that.
Iowa fans wanted him out of town at the end of the '07 season...they remember.
