Big News From IMS

Tony George the dry, wealthy dude in charge of IndyCar, IMS and other entities has been ousted...by his own sisters, according to SI.

He'll remain the CEO of IndyCar.

I don't know what this means for the series or IMS, but hopefully it means Brian Barnhart will stop strangling the testicles of the drivers during events as he did on Sunday at Indy.

Love you, Boiled Sports, but this one is not true. Mere rumors spread by Robin Miller.

Yup, looks like this one broke a little too soon. That would be a HUGE power move to get George out of there.

i actually enjoy r.miller, but i understand how his constant ranting annoys so many.

i agree, there's something going on, maybe not as major as first reported, but a definite change/shake-up.

who knows... both sides in open wheel (cart/irl, r.miller haters/t.george haters, etc.) are about as bad as republicans & democrats sometimes.

being a family/private business, we may never know the FULL extent of changes anyway.

whatever happens, i hope irl makes the car/chassis/engine changes next year rather than waiting until 2011 or even 2012... it would be hard to attract (and maybe keep) new teams until then.

I'd love to see the new chassis next year...but it sounds like development is little more than models and sketches at this point, sadly.

I'm sick of looking at the same chassis year in, year out.

You call Tony "dry". He's actually just a dirty old man that only knows how to carry on conversation by telling disgusting jokes. I work out at the same personal trainer studio as Tony does and it is not so much "dry"... just that he has almost zero social skills, aside from the not-even-funny gross jokes he tells.

'dowd, you've been married ten years, so I'd say you've been looking at the same chassis year in and year out.

Hey-yo!

Sorry Boilergal...I can't afford a personal training studio...so I don't hobnob with rich people.

I've talked to him in a bar, and it was boring...I see him on TV...and it's more of the same.

Maybe he's trying to impress you or you make him nervous when you're in your leotard and headband. Regardless, you should consider yourself lucky to hear such awesomeness from Tony.
