First Verbal of 2010

Scout.com is reporting that Charles Torwudzo from Brownsburg has chosen to come play with Purdue. Chuck T has very good size (6'4" 180#) catches the ball well with his hands and is nearly automatic on the high school level in "jump ball" situations. He plays Wideout for his high school team and returns punts as well.

He's not the most-fluid runner, but his choppy, high-knee strides seem to get him up to speed quickly while in traffic.

Tordwudzo was being recruited by a host of MAC schools and IU. A month-or-so ago, he announced that he was down to Purdue and IU.

Tordwudzo has a frame that could put on a bit of weight and might resemble Greg Orton a bit after a redshirt season...Like Orton, he should be a good possession target, but I don't know if his speed, at least at this point, is enough to get him behind BT DBs.

It's always good when a recruit chooses Purdue and doesn't choose IU...and Chuck T will probably be one of only a few players that Hope signs out of the state.

Welcome to God's country, Charles!

I'm glad he catches the ball well with his hands. But I'd be more impressed if he caught it well with his feet.

ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Ever seen a receiver catch using his pads? Bryant had that problem.

But, Tordwudzo is also good with his feet.

Tight End?

Apparently he plays basketball for Brownsburg as well. this is a good sign. basketball players know how to position themselves in traffic very well and this translates to football pretty well.

I know this kid pretty well. He goes by T-Wud and the last name is written
Torwudzo.
he is also 6'5 and at least 195 lbs.
but i am not trying to split hairs.

Luckily he has his senior year to pick up his speed and put on weight.

Why is it everytime we recruit a big WR someone wants to turn him into a TE? I hope they leave him at WR.

You guys ought to know by now if he was only being recruited by mac schools and iu and purdue that he's not gonna amount to anything. A 4.64 forty yd dash isn't gonna get him by elite corners in the big ten. Better redshirt him and pack on the lbs and make him a tight end. The redzone is the only he place he poses a minimal threat.

I know the kids sister Liz. He's been to my house multiple times. He's 6'2". Prob closer to 170. Purdue is getting a good receiver but he isn't 6-4 or 6-5. And he definitely isn't between 180-195.
