Great coach, role model and all-around leader-of-men, Tim Floyd has resigned at USC...I'm sure, according to the ever-consistant NCAA, this means USC will be exonerated from all wrong-doing...in all sports.
Reggie Bush, O.J. Mayo, SC AD Mike Garrett and others thank you, Coach Floyd, for taking responsibility for all of the cheating that has gone on by the Men of Troy.
Hats off to you Coach for doing things right!

From the moment that Floyd thought it would be a good idea to let OJ Mayo recruit USC, instead of Tim Floyd recruit OJ Mayo......I knew it wouldn't end well.
I can see it now-- USC AD Mike Garrett telling his secretary "Get Jan van Breda Kolff on the phone now!!!"
(Sorry, obscure reference. Coach VBK, a guy with a reputation for taking short cuts, was run out of his last college hoops coaching position for allowing the transfer of a "JUCO" player who only held a certificate in welding. The NCAA revised the record to forefit all games with that player)
On the serious side, how come nobody ever seems to court Joey Meyer? Beyond his laudable record at Depaul, the guy has had nothing but success coaching in the lower regions of the pros-- ABA & NBA-D-League. Eh, whatevs; I'm still wondering why Steve Lavin never gets any serious looks either.
Nice call Gregg, thanks for the heads up on Garrett; clearly, I actually got my welding certificate from Purdue...it's been a big help in my career!
I heard Isaiah Thomas wants to hire Floyd as an assistant coach and head of recruiting...
Gregg - I think Lavin likes TV too much - fewer rules and more hair gel.
I think Lavin must have done something dirty that is well-known in inner circles but not among the rest of us. How else can you explain a young, pretty successful guy not getting another shot? Again, as Plang says, maybe he's happy with TV, but I have to believe he would want to coach again. All coaches want to coach again.
I feel like I saw an interview with Lavin in a newspaper a few years back that said he enjoyed the TV gig because he could live where he wanted to and not open the paper and read all the negative things about his coaching... or I could have just totally made this up.
From his commentary I thought Lavin liked TV because he loves stroking the ego's of officiating crews. It's like he's setting up to ask them out on dates, and it is nauseating. The best commentator last season was Bobby Knight, by far.
