Sizable Entertainment

Not a lot of players/personalities in the NBA make me want to watch the game...but I like Shaq O'Neal. He's one of the best, most-dominant big men of all time...at least he was a few seasons ago. But, even when not on the top of his game, he's still great.

Well, he's now going to be teaming up with Bron Bron. If nothing else, it should be fun to watch. Both of these two are clowns; I mean that in a good way. Perhaps next season, I'll watch more than one NBA regular season game from start to finish...alright, maybe not, but highlights will be entertaining.

Futbol
Another sport I don't watch is soccer. But, a few of my friends do- and I'm told the US team beat the No. 1 team in the world, Spain. The loss breaks Spain's 35-game unbeaten streak...and it helps the US team look like it doesn't suck, which it did the last ten days-or-so, I'm told. Congrats, soccer fan.

**This post should have been made by our resident Clevelander (a real NBA fan, mind you), but I did it instead because Tim's feet are still recovering from surgery.

I know...tons of fun.

We do actually have a Cleveland home-towner on the staff at BS...he just doesn't post too often because he's a jackass.

But, we know you're hungry for your Cavs; so we deliver.

Get off my back, I posted like four times yesterday!

B-Dowd,

I didn't realize you were a pharmacy major or that you were from Chatatooga.

The soccer thing is pretty cool. Lately I have had a strange addiction to it. I think it is because good soccer like the confederations cup, world cup, Champions League, etc. is on during the day and it is good background TV while I am job searching and stuff. I actually watched the U.S. Spain game yesterday and it was fun.

-First time we have been in the finals of a FIFA tournament since 1914
-First Spain loss since a loss to Romania in 1996, they were 35-0-3 since
-First Spain loss to a non-European team since 1999.
-Second USA team to beat the #1 ranked FIFA team (1998 vs. Brazil in the Gold Cup)

This is a big deal. Hopefully we can get some momentum rolling going into the World Cup and make some noise there!

How can spain be 35-0-3 since 96, but you say first loss to a non-European team since 1999?? Has Spain won every world cup since 1996 as well? No they haven't, so they have lost in that span. I don't get your win-loss statements.

My bad. It's a 35-game unbeaten streak...ties- another reason soccer stinks.

@E: Because their losses between 1999 and 2006 were to European teams. There are no contradictions there.

he meant 2006 for spain's loss to romania, not 1996
