Week 3 Blogpoll Ballot

Well, that was a fun weekend of college football. Exciting games all day on Saturday. Below is our preliminary blogpoll ballot for this week. Buh-bye Tennessee, after that horrendour performance against a marginally talented UCLA team. So long to Michigan State, who I was pimping as a better than anyone expected. Sure, it was a close one, but you can't lose to MAC teams and be considered elite.

Welcome in Houston, who will likely not last but who earned it with a win over Oklahoma State, and Michigan, who was our favorite team on Saturday afternoon. Good thing Fat Charlie took over the playcalling this year or else the Domers might have gotten run out of the stadium.

Comments/diatribes welcome.

I think it's funny that Texas, for being an oft-picked national title contender gets very little talk time (or at least it seems that way to me). That's probably good for the focus and drive of their players.

Also, LSU needs to wake up. Letting Vandy stay close even as long as they did (in Baton Rouge) isn't a good sign, I think they should be a little lower.

OK, you've got BYU and Oklahoma right next to each other but somehow concluded that the loser of their head to head game is the better team?

How come you dropped ND? We know they still have 1001 ways to win the national title. They are still smarting from being left off the BCS roster last year so dissing them this early will not be tolerated.

Oklahoma ahead of BYU, that makes sense.

So Oklahoma's 64-0 win this weekend doesn't count? Only their one-point loss without their QB counts?

Look, we welcome feedback, but don't be an ass about it.

J, 64-0 over a 1AA (FCS) Idaho St team counts, but BYU beat Tulane, a 1A opponent 54-3, so I'd still take the head to head until something more substantial separates the 2 teams. Bradford was out because BYU knocked him out.

In any case, no need for a hissy fit.

Pretty good poll.

Row Boilers -- Now you've made my list of people's asses to kick.

Not sure me asking people to not be asses when giving feedback is equivalent to a "hissy fit," but whatever you say.

In fact, I'll put BYU #1 since you skirts all seem to think they're the best team in all the land.

Yes, Tulane. Solid competition.

Okay one more comment from me... where should BYU be? I notice you guys like poking me with a sharp stick but have no recommendation as to where they should go. One ahead of Oklahoma? You'll see they jumped way up in our poll... but clearly not enough. What does their impressive beatdown of Tulane warrant? I'm being serious. Top ten? I know the mass media thinks so...

J Money,

I'm just enjoying someone calling you out on your picks. Hissy fit indeed, WD, Row B. ;-) My read of your submissions didn't include any ass-factor. This post, by contrasts, is rich in ass-factor. Could we all agree to make that part of the BCS equation?

I don't have anything constructive to say but as far as popularity contests go, I like blondes. Maybe you should put USC #1?
LOL!!!
