It does feel good to let out some steam that had been building up. Purdue made Pryor look like a totally average quarterback. The question now is when will aOSU turn him into a running back or wide out? He just doesn't have the skills necessary to be a drop back passer.
Blah, blah, blah. What matters is a win. This should do wonders for the team's morale, and hopefully they can rattle off a few more wins in the upcoming weeks, but today, let's savor the victory because it's been a long time coming.
Now let's see a double dose with a USC victory tonight!

Boiler Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys should pick us to lose every week.
Way past time... but damn it feels good. Although this game was a very ugly game at times, but we actually finished a game in which we outplayed a team. My only hope is that we keep on getting better with ball security (3 frustrating T.O's) so that we can get another win next week against ILL...
Who is this Tim guy?
Holy crow, just goes to show how much mistakes can kill a team. Purdue wasn't perfect, but OSU turned the ball over even more.
Bucks fans are notorious for their yahoo behavior, and what little fallout I've seen (it's been about an hour or so since the game ended as I type this) is scary-enlightening. One Buckeye blog is holding this loss up as proof-positive that the Big 10 is the toughest conference top-to-bottom, and a great reason why Ohio State (providing they finish at-or-near the top of the conference) should get BCS consideration. The Rivals-Yahoo message boards are lighting up with calls for Tressel's ouster (for Cincy's Brian Kelly, the current flavor-of-the-month) and for Pryor's benching/reassignment to another position. How quickly these guys forget!
I refuse to read the tea leaves-- but IF Purdue can play like they did and continue to keep the mistakes to a minimum and play smart ball, there appear to be a few more wins in store this season... But for now, I'm simply going to enjoy this, Purdue University's first win over a ranked team in 6 years, and certainly Hope's biggest moment in his 5+ years as a 1-AA and 1-A head coach. All I need to make this day complete is to see Weis and UND pantsed by the Trojans this afternoon.

It's amazing how this kind of win can change perspective. Today was a huge recruiting day, with multiple verbal commits on campus and some other potentials still deciding on hand as well. Now, don't you feel even BETTER about this win?
In addition, if Purdue can beat OSU, why can't they rattle off a few more? Sure, the "what ifs" hurt even more now from earlier this season, but at least now the concept of a few more wins feels very possible.
And following on that, this is the kind of win you can build on. Many of the close losses have made us THINK this is possible, but we haven't tasted it. Now we (and more importantly, the players and coaches) have tasted it and they'll hopefully be hungry for more... next season and beyond has a brighter tinge of hope to it, doesn't it?
Boilerdowd will be back to his home base later on to regale everyone with stories of being at Ross-Ade for the game.
Congrats on the win, guys! You had a fire in your eyes that I hadn't seen in Purdue all year.
Oh, incidentally, this is Jeff at The Buckeye Battle Cry.....enjoy it, you guys!
Only 4 more wins to a bowl game right?
I don't care if the Boilers lose every game the rest of the year, today made my season. Everything beyond today is just icing on the cake.
I'd still like to see Gibboney run out of town or yanked off the sideline Sandman at the Apollo style.
Finally, please consider this my official resignation from the "Bench Elliott" club.
I was in the student section. Amazing. We had a potential recruit in my area. He was loving the emotion from the students. Props to Wiggs for staying on the field and meeting students. They finally put it all together. Now ND is down 27-14. I'm elated.
Call me Mr. Doom (actually, please do, that sounds awesome) but today's win just seems so bittersweet. Yes defeating the Columbus Football Vocational School for Kids Who Don't Read Good is awesome, but why couldn't they show up like that against such football factories as Northern Illinois? Insert blatant ND bashing here, even though USC is evil and should lose every game they play.
