I thought I read where ND wanted to take a 2 or 3 year break from playing us and we were talking to Nebraska about a home/away. Was I dreaming that one?
Exactly. And every now and then, we get to hear ND fans explaining why the loss won't hurt their BCS hopes and how they're really more focused on the Navy game anyway. You know, because that's a rivalry.

Just because you play an in-state opponent every year for 75 consecutive years, does NOT mean it's a rivalry.
Notre Dame fans decide what is a rivalry and what is not.

Weren't dreaming- they said that last year.
To be considered a true rival of Notre Dame, your campus must be at least 2,100 miles away. Because that is what rivalries are all about.
I think they looked at our record this year and Nebraska's record, and decided to stay with what they see as a spongy-soft team.
Frankly, I'm glad we play them every year. Why not? Long history, in-state (and decent), brings lots of viewership/attendance, easy to hate, etc.
