Poll Dancing 1/25/10

Boilers fighting, scratching and clawing their way out of self-created hole.

MSU, on the back of one win versus a ranked team during its current winning streak (two during the entire season) is 5th...The Spartans have three losses.

I love how when you lose is twenty times more important than who you lost to or how you lost.

Here is another reason not to get too worked up over polls and their worth. We have 3 losses like WVU and one more win, that win being a total drubbing of the Mountaineers less than a month ago. Yet we trail them in both polls.

The process for every pollster is to start with last week's poll and move teams up or down based on the 2 games they played since then. Even though they are all in the business I doubt that many take more than 15 minutes to make their selection each week.

Boilers are being spanked in the pools for losing the game to at the time unranked OSU at home. Win that one and we would probably be 6 or 7.

What the heck? BYU ranked 10th in ESPN poll? They have played NOBODY!!

I only care about us playing ball in April, but BYU ahead of us? That says it all about the importance of rankings.

Yes, BYU has only had one tough game and they lost that. Okay, maybe two with their win over SDS the other day. They are a solid Top 25 team, and that is all. Don't get too worked up, things shake out come March.
