After dropping two more since the last poll was released, Purdue fell to 13 & 15 respectively...Really not bad, in my opinion especially since neither was ranked at the time of each loss.
Tomorrow night might be a watershed of sorts, either win or lose, in my opinion.

I know I said this last week, but I think we see an angry team tomorrow night.
T-mill, I sure hope we do. Against NU we didn't look fired up like I thought we would be.
There have been several times during the careers of Hummel, Moore, Johnson, Kramer, and Grant that I've thought "we're going to learn alot about these guys as competitors in this next game," notably in games like: at Clemson, at IU in '07, Duke, and in Portland vs Washington.
All of those obvious learning experiences even before the season started, but this game tomorrow at Illinois has suddenly become maybe bigger than all of those just because these guys haven't dealt with real adversity in a while.
I think we know from previous experience that every one of Painter's players can be very tough, focused, and confident under tough circumstances, but jimminy christmas! they all gotta be on their game at Illinois, otherwise things could start to get ugly.
Are they ugly yet, not necessarily, but man we're about one straw away and the camel's got some back problems as it is...
Maybe the voters are thinking the losses are due to the depth of the conference this year, which would be a nice touch, especially if the selection committee feels the same way.
Of course, there's a practical limit to the number of reasonable losses you can get in a season, particularly if you want a good seed in either tournament ... and while Illinois may not be all that, it's a bit early to be falling three games behind them in conference play, never mind Michigan State.
