Johnson told us about Purdue not being too talented leading up to the game...everyone outside of Johnson's apartment...no, bedroom, disagrees with this assessment. And after Minny's painful loss, DJ continued his verbal incontinence...first to the refs, then to the media.
I'm not going to give this crazy man any more of our web space by quoting him. But, if you love Harry Potter, Drumline, Pretty Woman (Telepunk5's favorite) or any other movie that sweeps you away from the troubles of your life, you'll savor Damian Johnson's rants. Enjoy.

(Thanks to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune for some EXCELLENT photos of the game)

He's only a junior. He has to come back to Mackey next year.
His team was getting straight raped until what looks like it will forever be known as "The Inury". And they still lost. Even after being up 9. With the other team looking like someone has just stolen its first puppy for about 10 minutes. And they still folded to the "less talented team". At home. Enjoy the NIT d-bag.
PS - I have two knees that RH can have any part of if it would help the cause. Please be okay. BTFU!
I'll take Hummel without any knees before that healthy bum.
That is an awesome pic of KG's shot. Thanks for sharing. Iverson and Samspon were being overly aggressive with backing down defenders. I was glad to see CK take the charge, and it was a charge.
Great shot of the charge. I think Iverson made the mistake of thinking he was banging into Shaq. Thought he was gonna get T-ed up the way he yelled at the ref after the call! You think Iverson was pissed someone as small as Kramer was guarding him so well?
"verbal incontinence". haha, that's gold. I'm not happy about the reason it had to happen, but I was pretty pumped to see Kramer playing down low when he had to. What a badass.
Good talent is everywhere. Good teams are few and far between.
I now have a new background on my computer. Thanks for posting those pictures.
I love that photo. Now my desktop at work. I watched the highlight video and that shot was so smooth. KG gets great elevation, puts the ball up out reach, and has a great follow through. Reminded me of Reggie Miller and his shot on the baseline in front of Spike Lee.
Bade was just not prepared mentally to play in that game. He just looked out of place and did not adjust to the pace of the game. It took him so long to react on plays and rebounds. This should be a good reminder to everybody on the bench that they need to be prepared to play every night.
I think for Bade it's simply a case of the game being faster than what he'd grown accustomed to ... non-conference games are one thing, but he's really not shown anything in conference games to indicate that he's adjusted to college hoops yet, and even in some non-conference games, there were boxscore lines that suggested he just wasn't playing as quickly as his opponents. (Valpo: 8 minutes, 4 fouls; Minnesota: 3 minutes, 2 fouls; Wisconsin: 2 minutes, 2 fouls; and then last night, 5 minutes, 3 fouls.)
Painter gave him quite a few minutes in November and December, but even then I think it's different. It's one thing to play Tennessee in some silly little offshore tournament; it's another to be playing Iowa or Indiana or Penn State and finding out that even those teams have players on the floor that are better than you.
I think he'll be all right next year, he just needs to be able to play at this pace. Hopefully he will get some good minutes in March against a #16.
Did the Minnesota fans really cheer when Hummel went down?
shirley you can't be serious! i think they were just cheering when he got up...in a respectful way. At least I hope. Otherwise there might be a barn burnin
Reports are leaking out (I think they all stem from an Exponent report)... torn ACL, out for season.
Let's hope the student who came out with this report is wrong.
From what I recall, I think the fans were cheering because of the loss of possession – switching from a Purdue basketball to a Minnesota fast break – and that there might also have been some booing from the officials stopping play, but again, not to celebrate Hummel's injury, but to complain about the timing of the whistle. And who can pass up the chance to boo Ed Hightower?
Forget about how sick to my stomach I've been all day... Why does this kind of crap happen to such a stand up guy like Robbie Hummmel... a guy who represents everything that is right about college basketball. What a shame.
I was at the game and the Minnesota fans, once they realized what was going on, were respectful and gave him at least a half hearted round of applause when he got up. I'm sure they were resisting going crazy about the thought of winning at that point. Luckily they left pretty damn quiet.
