Indy Car...Seriously?

I'm a big IndyCar fan...and am pretty sick and tired of seeing the same chassis year-in-year-out for the last 10-to-15 years. So, when I heard new chassis concepts were coming to the surface for the 2012 change, I was stoked. My excitement turned to sadness moments ago as I looked at what the offerings were:

and finally the much-anticipated Delta Wing concept:

Looks like these fellas have been watching Tron over and over. I don't think a nearly-three-wheeled concept is the way to.

Regardless of what they do, they need to start making their collective minds up...2012 is closing in fast and the computer models need to become working prototypes soon.

Seriously! By now, I would have expected us to be seeing this kind of prototype:

It's funny... your headline is exactly what I always think when you post something about IndyCar.

I can't be the only one that things the delta wing looks like a penis car. Not to mention it's not even an open wheeled car. The Swift batmobile doesn't look too bad:

The Delta Wing is a joke and I'm curious as to what the Lola will look like. Personally, I think the Delta Wing will get nixed fairly quick. I just don't see how it'll take (and make) turn 1 at 220mph in Indy.

And Shawn: a friend of mine said the DW reminded him of the Ambiguously Gay Duo. :)

I think Ace and Gary would be proud to drive the Delta Wing.

The Swift concepts look good, even their radical one looks much better than that Delta Wing monstrosity.

That is a nice looking evolution of the current style of Indy Car.

How is it open wheel racing if the wheel is covered?

Indycar died in 1997. It will be bankrupt in a couple years.

Hope you're wrong, Klaus...but it's definitely been mis-managed.

Growing up around Indy, I had Indy car respect at an early age.

My attention will come back just as soon as the red bow ties return on the engine compartments.

Well well well. Look who stumbled into MY little realm.

Yeah. The Delta Wing looks like a schlong.
