Get off B.E's nuts!

Over on ESPN.com they talk about the Big East tournament and break down the teams. In the section on LeMoyne Syracuse, they say that "In the past 11 years, only two teams -- Georgetown and Connecticut -- have managed the impossible trifecta of winning the Big East regular season, winning the conference tournament and making it to the Final Four."

Something strikes me as a little odd. Maybe it's because I actually know what the definition of impossible is, and I know that it's not defined as something that happens nearly 20% of the time.

Dear ESPN,

Get off the Big East's nuts already!

Sincerely,

Everyone

So...the impossible happens 18% of the time?!?!?!

EPSN hates Purdue. Here is a little bit about they said about the BTT;

Dark horse: Quite frankly, none of the lower-division teams bring any significant momentum into the tournament, so it's hard to find a spoiler. But take a flyer on Indiana to beat Northwestern for the second time in a week and then shock Purdue.

Early upset candidate: The Boilermakers are susceptible, if either the Wildcats or Hoosiers are good enough to beat them in the quarterfinals.

That last statement doesn't even make any sense! What does it take to become a clown that write's for ESPN?

I know, it's mostly unfathomable to think a team good at winning would actually continue winning.

Ludicrous.

I second that motion.

You'd have to have literally not seen a single Purdue or IU highlight this year to think IU has a good chance of beating Purdue.

Yeah and Pat Forde is good enough to write for ESPN, if he kisses enough ass.

IU beat us? You kidding me? Northwestern beat us? You kidding me? (playoffs?)

Usually I like Forde's work, especially during football season, but has he even seen how Purdue has been playing in Conseco lately? It's becoming home-away-from-home!!!

Plus I have a feeling that Kramer and Grant feel the urgency of being in the home stretch of their time in the old gold and black and will probably be playing harder than ever.

So did all the axe-grinding IU Star "journalists" that got canned get new gigs writing for ESPN?

If a team is good enough to win the regular season and the conference tourney of a conference that gets so many accolades, wouldn't you EXPECT them to reach the final four? In the last 11 years six teams have won the Big East Tourney and were at least co-regular season champs, but only two of them made the final four. In the same time period 4 Big Ten teams won the BTT and at least co-reg season champs, then proved the toughness of the conference by making it to the final four.

As for the ESPN comment isn't any team susceptible if any other team is good enough to beat them? Way to state the obvious...
