2010 Purdue Football: Game 7

As part of the BS football season preview at the end of August, we'd like the readers of BS to weigh in on the Boilermakers' chances in each of their games. Today, we discuss game 7.

On October 23, the Boilers will face their toughest test yet. Best care scenario, they're 6-0, ranked, and being taken seriously. But regardless of whether that's the case or not, this game represents a lot. The Boilers getting shellacked in this game would destroy whatever amount of credibility they have built up to this point, be it of the 6-0 variety, the 4-2 variety or whatever. You can lose this game -- you just can't get embarrassingly pummeled.

The Boilers haven't won in Columbus since the '80s. And there's no doubt the Buckeyes remember who gave them their only Big Ten loss last year. Personally, I'm just hoping for a good showing and it's one of the few times I won't be disappointed this year by a loss. Sure, I'll be wishing for a win -- but I understand where these two programs stand right now. OSU has national title aspirations. Purdue is just trying not to aspirate. (See what I did there?)

And as though you need any more reasons to beat OSU, well, they deserve to lose everything after this nonsense.

What say you?

The coaches should play that vid the week before the game and ask them, "Do you really want to lose to a school that thinks dancing to a bad Journey cover is cool?" That vid makes me want to beat the crap out of someone!
