The Scale: SEMO

Alright, this was a tough game to rate in this way simply because so little was lousy on the day. In fact, there's really hardly anything that was awful about the day...but here's this week's scale.

Knocked out.

"The Scale" is an easily-digested, overly-simplified post-game synopsis from Boiled Sports

Despite the shellacking our Boilers handed out, I'm still worried about the middle, especially with a pass happy Notre Dame coming up. On TV, although it's difficult to see, it seems like they still played a cover 2 with the linebacker covering the 3rd receiver. It didn't rear it's ugly head this time because SEMO was terrible. I worry against a Notre Dame, the issue will return.

UND is talented and well-coached. I'm with you- I'm positive they've noticed Purdue's problem in the middle and will exploit it.

SEMO has 20 fewer scholarships players than Purdue and it was the first Big Ten opponent for them... ever. Let's focus on Notre Dame. On October 1st, we'll know exactly where our program is headed. We are either going to look like we belong on the same field as ND or it could be very ugly. This game, in my opinion, is Danny Hope's perfect shot to earn support and respect. A great coach and competitor is a guy who would seize this amazing opportunity... an opportunity most coaches won't ever even get. (Sellout, national TV, rivalry, exposure, pressure) I'm rooting for him, but if he blows it... well, I know I can't stand to see his grinning face and positive spin come Monday morning 10/3.

Good Lord Cal...can't we just enjoy this win? Let the coaches and the players worry about ND.

What's the point of coming to blog and posting an opinion then? Should we just drop Purdue football out of our collective minds Sunday through Friday? Armchair QBing and coaching is what following sports is all about. It's called passionate. I liked Cal's comment. Althouh SEMO is a nice confidence booster, it's hardly anything to brag about. Notre Dame is a good test.
