It's Mostert Time.

Yesterday it was announced that Waynelle Gravesande would be added to the list of players not playing in the game in Detroit tomorrow. Gravesande, like Ross is in his situation because of grades/academics.  Gravesande, a Senior, has played his last down for Purdue.

For those keeping track at home, Bolden, Beckford, Ross and Gravesande are all starters who are unavailable. Gooden and Lucas were not suspended following wrestling a police boot off their car.

Hope says the dominative, but speedy TJ Barbarette and CB Josh Johnson will return punts in the stead of the sure-handed, but not-too-explosive Gravesande.

On the offensive side of the ball, Gravesande played pretty solid toward the end of the season.  I'm hoping Hope and Nord use Raheem Mostert on offense as much as possible to fill the gap by Ross and Gravesande.  As I said before, I really like Gary Bush in the primary role, but think Mostert should be given more opportunities as good things seem to happen when he has the ball in his hands.

With Bolden out, I also want to see more Mostert. However, I don't like him as much in a WR role -- my understanding is that he's an RB through and through.

What would be useful is to get him in the backfield instead of Edison. No need to have Edison taking snaps as an RB when you've got Shavers, Hunt, and Mostert all available.
