Nebraska thought the third and final game in the three-game series versus Purdue was important and looked to change their momentum with just one victory at home versus one of the nation's-best teams...but Purdue did what it's done all year and handled the pressure with ease and came away with an 8-3 victory.
Our Boilers are still at the top of the conference at 12-3...but after losing Saturday to the Cornhuskers, their first loss in 10 games, the Boilers first baseball visit to Lincoln looked like it might not be a success. Sunday though, Purdue hammered the ball, Nebraska wilted a bit under the pressure of the barrage with two errors, and Purdue came away with the series.
All year, Schreiber has said this veteran squad can handle tough situations...they did it, yet again on the road this weekend. Next up, two out of conference games v. Illinois State and BSU before a pivotal series in West LaFiesta v. MSU to end the month of April.
