Just In case you're still a fan of the olympics...
Here's something to keep in mind- The pinheads at the IOC recently backed down as the Chinese Gymnastics Team told them that they're earlier documentation of their girls ages didn't count and the most recent were the most accurate...But that's not even close to the biggest example of how the IOC stinks.
Much like the UN, the IOC makes big statements and proclamations and does nothing to follow up when those rules, regulations and warnings are broken. Even more bothersome is the fact that China, it's opening and the games on a larger scale are being praised by NBC, the world media and the IOC as a great success. This is a travesty.
These games are at best a sham and at worst a disgusting example of the worst the world has to offer...Read here for more...and make sure to click all of the links along the way for details.
I'm saddened and angered in hindsight by the fact that I actually watched these olympics on TV. The painful fact is that moneys from McDonalds, Nike and others were poured into the heartless, human-crushing machine called the PRC because of hypocrites like me. While sport is entertaining and I love to see America win, there are better ways to support her than watching this olympiad. Damnit.
China, you can suck it.
IOC, you can too- you empowered Hu and the PRC's march toward ZERO progress in the realm of human rights and freedom was made during the past two weeks/two years. But honestly, what level-headed person would believe that negotiating and bargaining with a communist regime would end any other way?

This just in.
As you may have heard, the IOC investigated the Chinese gymnasts on allegations that they're under age and therefore ineligible to compete. The IOC wrapped up the investigation after a mere 4 short hours.
Continuing our developing story, we've intercepted a phone call from the Chinese government made to the International Olympic Committee. This may shed some light on the brevity of the investigation. The transcript follows:
IOC: Hello, this is the IOC. We have found evidence that three of your gold medal winning gymnasts are under the minimum required age.
China: Who is this? Frank? At least you could have said you were calling from Shanghai.
IOC: No Mr. China, I'm afraid this really is the IOC. We're going to have to strip those athletes of their gold medals.
China: Listen here mother father! I made you! I own you! Without me you're nothing!
IOC: I'm sorry, but you broke the rules.
China: No, no, let me apologize for getting upset. What I meant to say earlier was that I'd like to have you over for dinner. We're eating your balls!
IOC: Oh. Um. Sixteen. Yep they're all sixteen. Thanks again. Have a great day. Please don't shoot me.

They grow up so fast...

From left to right, He Xing Wang, aged 38. Yi Jiang Ling, aged 33. Xe Che Ming, aged 39. And the eldest of the group, the fine Te Chung Win, a mindblowing 44 years old. You'd never have guessed it. They look like they're 8, but they're really all adults, and have been for many years, and you can't prove otherwise.
