Texas A&M Will Fit Right In -- They're Already Cheering For Other SEC Teams

Regular readers know how much we kind of loathe the SEC's brain-dead fans who rub it in your face when LSU wins a national title... or when Alabama does...or when Auburn does. Even when they're, like, a Georgia or Tennessee fan or something. As I noted to the site Saturday Down South via Twitter the other night, it's easy to have "southern pride," as they call it, when you have a dozen favorite teams. As I've often noted, this is no different than me rooting for the entire American League East. It makes no sense and makes you look like the opposite of an intense fans -- it makes you look like a stooge in a Buffalo Wild Wings commercial.

When Texas A&M moved to the conference, I actually did think that they were a good addition in terms of intense/insane fandom. If you're not familiar with Aggie fans, people in Texas refer to them as "insane." We all like to believe we're loyal to our schools, but A&M alums are truly nuts about their fanaticism. And if you're putting college football destinations on your bucket list, I highly recommend you put College Station near the top.

All that said.... the Aggies joined the SEC this week and put out the below ridiculous "welcome" video, wherein A&M student do the cheers of the other SEC teams. What....the....F?

After the jump, see a lame attempt at... I don't know....conference spirit?

B-Dowd Joins T-Mill And Others For Some Sweaty On-Camera Action

What? Is there something wrong with that headline?

Your favorite dunkerrific co-editor of Boiled Sports -- Boilerdowd himself -- joined H&R's Travis "T-Mill" Miller for a spirited two hours of sweating, panting and peeling off layers of clothing. And then they played basketball, too! Hey-yoo!!!

See Travis' video below for yourself. B-dowd is the square dude with the JJ jersey early on and then the gray, sweated-through muscle shirt later in the video. Strangely, they cut out the part where Travis hoses him down.

See the video, after the jump.

Just Remember...They Are ND

Best worst video ever?

For those who haven't seen it, the below video was created last year by an out-of-touch, middle-aged Notre Dame alum who actually thought this would have the fans "dancing in the aisles." It sounds like something my mom would say, that's the level of cringe-worthyness. And it's pure awesome.

This Is IU-U-U

Remember that wonderful We Are Notre Dame video from last summer that, apparently, was not meant ironically? Well, it's possible that IU actually has that beat.

I haven't done any research on this yet to know how such an abomination as this could exist intentionally, but then again...maybe nothing more needs to be said. Let's roll tape, after the jump.

It's a Party In the UGA

Hey, remember some of those awful videos from earlier this summer? Did you think it couldn't get any worse?

If you were designing something for an SEC school, would you make it as lame as you possibly could? Well, if you worked for Georgia admissions, you apparently would.

Holy moly. There are no words for how awful this University of Georgia orientation video is, after the jump.

Ohio State Students Want In On This Bad Video Business

Alright, what the hell is going on here? Is there some sort of inside joke going on this week that we aren't aware of? When did midwestern college campuses turn into the end of Footloose?

Not to be outdone by Notre Dame, OSU students want to take a crack at making the whitest video ever. Have they topped "We Are ND"? You be the judge:

Seriously, football season, get here before this gets worse.

More On "We Are ND" Video

If you thought that "We are ND" video had a certain '80s lameness to it, well, you're not only a discerning fan of awful music videos, but you're also completely correct!

Turns out, Notre Dame grad Ted Mandel, class of '86, really loved '80s funk and remembered fondly the glory years of 1988 and 1993 (you know, 22 and 17 years ago, when ND football was last relevant) and wondered why that funk wasn't being brought to Notre Dame Stadium anymore. Why, it was just as recently as 1974 that Notre Dame was #1 in both football and basketball! A mere 36 years ago!

Why couldn't fans be as cool and funky and passionate as they were back then, wondered Ted. Or, more accurately, why couldn't fans be as cool and passionate as Ted remembered them being in his imagination? As we all know, it's human nature to remember things a bit more fondly in retrospect, especially when we want to. I think it's fair to say today's college students are at least as well-versed at partying as Ted and his crazy Jordache-wearing buddies were in the mid-'80s. Back when men were men, Notre Dame football was sub-.500, and Mike Golic was on scholarship.

Anyway, Ted decided to write the lyrics to "We are ND" and include the current students and faculty in producing it. As Ted puts it:

Just a crazy idea by one faculty member to inject that Notre Dame 1970s plaid passion I experienced as a kid… through the song of a funky 70s throwback musician…into the student body of 2010.

Who knows, maybe it’ll be a song to get fans participating again, chanting from the stands, dancing in the aisles. A “have fun, who cares if I look silly dancing” song you spontaneously sing in the parking lots after knocking off the number one team in the country.

Wait, let me just compose myself here.

Okay, I'm good. So, Ted is basically like someone's really lame sitcom dad who wants to show everyone how cool he is by doing something he remembers as cool from the '70s.... which, of course, he wasn't even in college during. I also love the giddy idea of "dancing in the aisles" that Ted puts forth -- he can barely contain himself! He's probably dancing as he writes his story!

More from Teddy:

The student athletes loved it. Fresh, funky….different.

Or tired, old, contrived and horrible. The first thought most people we know who saw it had was that it looked like a bad '80s promotional video for something.

It’s not a recruiting tool. Not a contrived, underground marketing attempt to make ND look hip. Just a fun video shown at a student athlete banquet.

Oh. Really?

September 4th, I hope the students wear wacky facepaint, and crazy wigs, and dance, and sing, and rock Notre Dame Stadium, and party in the parking lot. And get all ‘70s again.

We hope the students dress like the "band leader" in the video and play air guitar in the aisles, too. Because the comedy gold will be heaping.

Because WE ARE ND.

Which -- as lame as it is on its own -- is a rip off of Penn State's "We are Penn State."

Auto Racing Frivolity

In case you haven't seen this, check it out.

All this tells me is that this guy's pit crew team doesn't practice...auto repair, anyway. However, this might be the most entertained I've been by auto racing in a decade. Thoughts?

College Baseball Frivolity

All this tells me is that neither team practices...baseball, anyway. This might be the most entertained I've been by baseball players in a decade. Thoughts?

More From JJ Productions

If you don't follow us on Twitter you may not be seeing all the great videos JaJuan Johnson keeps posting featuring the team. On Saturday, coming back from PSU and winning the Big Ten co-championship, the Boilers were in a fun mood. Check it out.

I absolutely LOVE the way these guys rip on each other and just seem to be having so much fun. This is probably not uncommon on good teams, but seriously, how great is it to see each of them taking a good-natured shot at another? Ripping Lew for his passing, KG taking ten years go get to 1,000 points, etc.

Good stuff. Keep laughin', boys. All the way to Indy.

In Case You Didn't Already Think Announcers Have a Lot of Fun

Loved this story about life as a baseball announcer, courtesy of Artie Lange.

Yes, I'd be about that mature, too. It's basically the same thing any of us who have conference calls do with the mute button.

Awesome.

Making The Best of Hurricane Ike -- A Short Play

SCENE: Galveston, TX, last Friday afternoon.

MAN: "Hmmm, let's see... where's my duck costume? Honey, where's my duck costume?"

WOMAN, OFF-CAMERA: "I think it's at the cleaners. Are we evacuating?"

MAN: "Yeah, yeah, give me a minute... how could you not have picked up my duck costume? Seriously, woman, what's your problem?"

WOMAN, OFF-CAMERA: "Why don't you wear your bear costume?"

MAN: "That's ridiculous. It makes no sense at all. Where's the humor in that? My goodness, woman, you don't know anything about comedy."

WOMAN, OFF-CAMERA: "Hey, honey, there's another news crew out there... looks like they're doing a live feed....probably going to be on the Houston news."

MAN: [sighs] "Well, the bear will have to do..."

Horse Inner Monologue: Okay, here we are... the race is about to start. Man, those oats were good a little while ago. If only I could get this fu-king leprauchaun off my back, I'd be all good. Wait, what am I doing being shoved into this tiny enclosure? Shit! They just closed the gate behind me! Man, I am crammed in here. Hey, don't you assholes remember I'm claustrophobic? Dammit.

What's all that crowd noise? Wait, something's about to happen, I can tell.... wheee! The gate's open and we're off! Hey, there's Bill! And Hank! And Joe! Hey, guys where are you all going? I guess I better go, too.

Hey, fellas where the hell are we all going in such a GD hurry? Hey! Can't you hear me? Let me get a little closer to you.
