Thanks for the ride A-Train

Today, Mike Alstott has retired from professional football. During his 12 years with the Bucs he became their all-time touchdowns leader.

During Mike's 4 years at Purdue he rushed for 3,635 yards, including 1,436 in 1995. During those seasons, Purdue might as well have called themselves the Alstott's, because that's about all they had going for them.

He carried Purdue for 4 years as a fan favorite, and continued on in Tampa as one of the most popular players in the history of their franchise.

Good luck Mike, on whatever it is you choose to do.

One, okay two more times, let's watch him torch IU.

Amen. Mike is a class act and he was the epitome of a good soldier during his time with some really marginal Purdue teams. The guy never got near a bowl game and never even had a winning season in West Lafayette. Yet, as our only offensive option, he carried the load and still put up the numbers. I'm so glad he got to win a Super Bowl... I remember thinking that made me happy because he deserved to reach the pinnacle.

On another note, I like this paragraph and how the way it's written makes it sound like Gruden is Alstott's wife. Yes, I'm a child.

"Flanked on a podium by his wife, coach Jon Gruden, general manager Bruce Allen and executive vice president Bryan Glazer, Alstott choked up on three different occasions while talking about how difficult it will be to not be around his teammates on a daily basis."
