Finally: Purdue, Butler, IU & UND in talks to play in Indy

Mike Brey commented today that there are conversations going on right now for Purdue, Butler, IU and UND to play in a double header in '11 & '12. Hopefully this is more than just a flash in the pan and becomes a regular event in Indy. It's really too bad Rob's ole pal (can't remember his name) won't get to see his old Boiler teammates up close.

Granted, a small, regional program like Purdue has never seen a team with the level of talent that a national brand like UND has, but aw shucks, it'd be a ton of fun to see them square off...just so Purdue could see how they compare to a truly great basketball team.

This is exactly what we need. I think it would be good for all teams involved. Since Purdue and IU cannot play, then it would just be a "double-header" and cannot be a mini tourney type thing where the winners face off, right?

Purdue vs. Butler?
Or Purdue vs. ND?

Both would be good to see.

Purdue-ND because they play every year in football and never play in hoops; just makes sense that they play in hoops. We all want to see it. Make it happen.

Purdue-Butler haven't played much recently and should play more expesially with the surge in Butler hoops under Collier-Matta-Likliter-Stevens, but Indiana-Butler might make better sense and draw more interest from the state.

I say it has to be Purdue-ND and Indiana-Butler.

Would be an exciting event at the LOSs or Conseco, but of course I wouldn't care about the other game after Purdue plays. Who gives a $hi+ about Butler and IU? I don't. Probably only stupid ESPN. Such a worthless network.
