Well, you should all be really ashamed of yourselves. Not only did you lose the bracket extravaganza, you lost to a girl. A girl who has watched less college basketball than my 15-month-old. Yes, the winner of the BS Bracket Extravaganza is none other than my lovely wife.
Sure, when she filled out her bracket and had UConn winning it all, I scoffed at her. However, she wound up better than 97.2% of the six million brackets filled out on ESPN.com. So there's that.
For her skills, she wins a guest post on the site, an appearance on the Handsome Hour and to sleep with me. (Would have been really awkward if Boilerdowd's wife had won.)
We'll definitely let you know when to expect her brilliance to infiltrate the site.

Your Photo or Story Could Win You a Copy of Drew's Book
It's contest time here at BS. We've got copies of Drew Brees' book, Coming Back Stronger just sitting here, ready to be taken, and we want to give them away. Thing is, we need a good reason to give them away. So we're going to have two contests. We will be the judges and our decisions will be final. Unless we change our minds. Like Bobby Brown said, that's our prerogative.
All entries should be sent to BoiledSports@gmail.com.
Category 1 -- Best Purdue Sports Photo You've Take (or taken credit for)
Do you have a Purdue sports photo that you're particularly proud of? Do you have several? Did your roommate take a really good one that you can locate on their hard drive and submit as your own? Do it. Send it to us. No limit on the number of entries. We'll give away a copy of Drew's book to the winner and, if we have lots of good entries, to the runner-up, too.
Category 2 -- Best Purdue Athlete Story
Tell us a story of your favorite interaction with a Purdue athlete, past or present. Funny, touching, life-changing, whatever. Bonus points for photos. Try to keep the story under 1,000 words because we move our lips when we read.
Arbitrary deadline for all entries will be next Friday, September 3. We'll reveal the winners the following week and your books will be on the way.

Sir Brees in WestLaf on Friday
As you may already know, Drew Brees will be in Lafayette and West Lafayette, IN this Friday to promote his new book, Coming Back Stronger. And the tentacles of Boiled Sports will be there -- what, you expected something less?
We're fortunate to have a deputy, Margaret, who is going to be on site and reporting for us. You can find her updates on Twitter @mamargie and she'll also be filing a report for us which we will post here.
In other Drew Brees book-related news, we're in the process of getting our grubby hands on a few copies of his book, which we'll be giving away to you, our loyal and loving readers. We just need to figure out what kind of contest to run....

Get Ready to Mount Your Brackets
Wait, that didn't sound right.Anyway, Timmy put up the info last week about the Second Annual Boiled Sports Tourney Randomness Challenge.
I took a look today and there are only like 40-something of you clowns signed up. Last year, when we had probably half as much traffic, we had nearly 100 participants. Small potatoes, to be sure, but still.... you guys can outdo that. The site stats say 1,000 visitors a day so let's get on this. Enter the pool for fun. There's no cost to enter. Have your wife enter and then gloat when you beat her or be shamed when you lose. Enter your dog. Because, really, who the hell ever knows what's going to happen?
Last year, the winner was Nick B's entry "A Whole Lot of 3's," and his "reward" (if you can call it that) was our airspace for a post. True, he might have had a wider audience had he simply written his thoughts on a bathroom stall door, but we're (slightly) more sanitary. And Nick chose to call me out as his guest post topic for my criticism of Scott Martin's transfer. Fair enough, Nick. Just you wait -- one day, I'll have a chance to post about YOU. (Oh wait...)
Anyway, so this year's prize will be:
A night with Tim's wife.
A night with Tim.
The first thing I grab when I reach into my desk drawer.
Wait, sorry, none of those were approved by BS Corporate. So we've settled on the following...
Winner of the 2009 BS Tourney Pick 'Em will get a coveted Boiled Sports T-shirt as well as a guest post here at BS on the Friday after the Final Four.
So enter and kick our asses. We freaking dare you.
This will go on the shelf with

meaningless awards,
prizes,
