Eric Wedge Looks Serious For Just Having Been Pie-Faced

For those that may have missed it, the Cleveland Indians made a triumphant return to the playoffs yesterday by winning the AL Central. Two years ago, in 2005, they had closed to within a game and a half of the White Sox during the final week only to fumble away a trip to the playoffs. They won 93 games that year and looked poised to be very good. In 2006, they took a major step back, finishing under .500 despite scoring a lot of runs. In 2007, they've put it all together, getting better and better this year and now they're seeing the payoff as they head back to the playoffs.

This is pretty impressive because the state of Ohio is putting together quite a year. The Ohio State Buckeyes began the year in the national title game and the Cleveland Cavaliers went to the NBA Finals. Sure, both of those teams got pasted in their respective championship showdowns but, hey, it's Cleveland -- were you expected perpetually sunny skies?

And hey, if you act now, you can get the Cleveland Indians Central Division... coin.

You might have heard about this from our Cleveland-based Boiled Sports contributor, Tim, but he's been awfully busy lately with chili cook-offs, trips to Bed, Bath & Beyond and, presumably, antiquing.
