Having Our Fun Now

I don't know which one's funnier, my version or the real one...

The fact that ESPN is involved makes it all the more enjoyable...If anyone didn't question ESPN's journalistic integrity before, they should definitely now.

Fricking love it.

I think it would be funnier still if NBC was somehow involved

So, I asked this question earlier in the season and didn't really get a response. How bad would it have to be before NBC dropped ND from their broadcasts? I don't know when the contract runs out, but when it does, how much will it take for NBC no say, "thanks, but no thanks. We actually need to make money off of this."

ND is polarizing. People watch because they love them or because they hate them. Think about it... many, if not all, of us would watch a Notre Dame game just to see if they lose. Some of the most fun I've had watching college football has been watching ND.

They get the ratings... so short of them going 1-11 for like 5-10 years in a row, I don't think NBC would drop them. We'll see, though.

I honestly think that NBC won't renew their contract with UND this next time. If you watch the games, you'll notice that now the sideline reporters aren't UND shills like they used to be and they're not all sporting navy & gold NBC shirts...I don't know when the contract is up though. I think when that happens UND will join the Big East.

Ryan- I thought about replacing the ESPN at the top with NBC...but didn't because I didn't have the NBC logo handy...I didn't take a lot of time on this one.

That's true, J. I've watched more ND games this year than in the past. And I have laughed mightily.

The day NBC dumps the contract is the day Kelvin Sampson gets fired (assuming no other issues come forth).

Every now and then, I come here and hope that the inferiority complex to IU and ND will not present itself. I guess I was wrong.

Come on now MJS, lighten up! If you can't make fun of a rival when they're down they you just aren't a sports fan. Anyway, I do agree with you - NBC will drop ND when Sampson learns that all NCAA rules apply to him.

MJS -- Dude, why would we have an inferiority complex to a losing football program or an NCAA-rules-violating basketball program with a cheating coach and a heyday that's long, long ago?

Lighten up, junior.

MJS- Does it hit a little close to home for me to get after both of your teams?

The truth hurts, say "ouch".
