You know how everyone thinks Charlie Weis isn't going anywhere because of his massive buyout? Well, perhaps that's not entirely true.... as per the Chicago Tribune.
"The common perception of Weis' buyout is not accurate. Multiple sources have told the Tribune the buyout, far smaller than believed, will not affect whether Notre Dame decides to fire Weis after Saturday's game at USC."
Innnnnteresting. It goes on to say the following:
Whatever the case, a consensus is building among sources with ties to Notre Dame that Weis is in danger of being fired after four seasons. "He has built zero relationships at the school," one source said. "It has been all about him and his ego."
Gosh, that's shocking. Shocking, I tell you!
Eat up, fatties.

Don't worry Charlie, you won't be out of a job long. adidas still has a need for a model for its size 55 waist khaki pants.
Excellent article in collegefootballnews.com today entitled "Notre Dame's Next Head Coach." It crunches the math and makes a compelling case that between NBC's contract with the school, plus the fact that ND's payout for a BCS game (which it keeps 100%-- no conference members to take equal shares)-- and they should hire an elite coach to get them to a BCS game, no more experiments in the vein of Faust, Davie and Fat Charlie-- then a Weis buyout would be chump change and a wise business investment. It then goes on to say that ND should get Urban Meyer, and stop nickel-and-diming him (which is what reportedly happened 3 years ago when they approached coach Meyer). For Purdue's sake, I hope Fatso is there for a long, long time-- as long as he doesn't learn how to develop his players, UND will be swimming in mediocrity.
