Prepare to See Coaching Elite In Boxers

We already had the gay undertones of wife-cheater (Kobe), steroid-user (A-Rod), drunk driving bong-hitter (Michael Phelps) and general all-around stoner (Tony Hawk -- sorry, couldn't find anything really bad about him) doing a gay-undertones guitar hero commercial. But now we've got a cadre of college coaches doing it, too -- and hunchback Bob Knight referring to it as "Gee-tar Hee-row."

Avert your eyes.

I actually like the way they all kind of shake their heads at Knight's patented "throw something" maneuver. As an aside, though, has anyone ever gotten more mileage out of a single act of ass-hole-ry?

I doubt Knight even has any idea what Guitar hero is. Show up, recite lines, collect check. Must be a tough...

I don't have any problem with Knight doing it...Good for him, I guess.

I'm going to come out and say it right now. 2009 is the year that I have grown to like Bob Knight. My biggest complaints were that he was a bully and that IU fans worshipped the man. He no longer has anyone to bully other than the odd ESPN intern and IU fans are singing the praises of the Forehead now. He does a terrific job doing color commentary and I actually learn something each time he's on.

I hate to agree, but I do. He's good at his current job and only in this capacity do we all begin to realize just how well he sees the game. I imagine if Roy Williams or Coach K or someone like that decided to do color, it might be similar, too. You don't realize how good these guys are until you hear them breaking things down instead of giving canned answers in press conferences.
