Lewis Jackson Arrested (Unconfirmed)

We don't yet know if this is our LewJack but it appears that Lewis Jackson, Purdue's freshman point guard, may have been arrested two days ago in Piatt County, Illinois for not only underage drinking, but also possession of weed and the paraphernalia that goes with it.

Not sure what impact this will have on his '09-'10 season. Much as I hate to admit this, I'm glad it happened now and not during the season when he might get suspended for it.

We'll see how it plays out and will continue to try to determine if this is for sure LewJack.

(Big thanks to reader Joey for the tip.)

Um, fuck?

Hopefully there is another Lewis Jackson, IV in Illinois.

Is Lew going to be the Scott Martin of this year? There were definitely games where we could have used Scott and if we're without Lew for the year it could hurt.

It's confirmed to be LewJack...the only good news I see here is that he's actually 5'9"...

Marijuana, booze & speeding...the trifecta.

Here's the deal- Painter will wait until his case is heard in early May, then will hand down his judgement.

My gut says Painter gives players one chance to screw up...on the second, they're out on their ear.

This type of thing pisses me off and is an embarrassment.

Hey, he didn't break the cardinal rule and hit a kid on Northwestern while he was driving under the influence. So at least he's got that going for him

Good thing we are set at PG for next year!

I bet Byrd is going to see the court now in pre-conference more than Painter had planned...could be a blessing in disguise...

Maybe we'll see Barlow play a little point-forward at times?

That'd be interesting- tall lineup?

Who knows...But, I think LewJack will be in street clothes for at least a few games next early winter.

Not sure what to say. It pisses me off. I was looking forward to eating my words in upcoming years(may not be able to now), but seems LewJack might not just be a dumba$$ on the court in crucial gametime situations- he continues that off the court as well. Hopefully, if Painter gives him another chance, he handles it as well as Keaton has so far and stays out of trouble.
