HE Is An American

Abe Trindle, 26-year-old Freshman, walked on to the football team this year after serving as a Navy SEAL for the past eight years, including time in Iraq. Maybe the rest of you knew about Abe, but I didn't. This is awesome.

Abe hasn't seen the field yet this year, but take heart, Abe! Neither have many of the scholarship athletes!

Trindle grew up in southern Indiana and was "never much of a Purdue fan" but when faced with the realities, he chose combat over playing for IU. (Okay, I kid, I kid.)

Regardless, if you see Abe get on the field this year, support him. He's certainly earned our admiration, no matter how he performs.
